I don't really think we're all on the same page here. It seems like we're either all in different places, or we're all just in different times. My first post gave the setting. Zmerr and the island at least are placed at the beginning of fall and it's cold. Also, it's not a jungle island. It's a wooded one with things like maple and pine trees. Animals like deer (this one's for you gogojakeo) and rabbits. Things that could all survive a snowy winter.
