[Damian] "You know.... you're an ass." Damian was braced for the attack, he could see the aura flash into existence as Lazarus turned. His response was to dodge if he could, but he wouldn't use magic unless forced. "But you are my friend." Lazarus breathed out heavily and Damian raised an eyebrow. "Heaven would demand that I help a friend with their wishes." When Lazarus offered his hand for the shake, Damian took it and shook, intending to head for Master Jamie's study when Maddox grabs his and Lazarus's shoulders. "Listen," he whispered, most likely trying to make sure that no one else could hear him. After pausing a moment, probably to make sure they were both listening, and then he continued. "Everyone is a bit on edge and nervous. That's to be expected. Lazarus, you're a long-time veteran here like me. Damien, you're a symbol of strength. Members like us need to rise to the occasion for everyone else, if you understand me." Damian didn't reply, not because what he said upset him, but because there was no reason to continue the conversation. However, when he said he was going to talk to Sasha, Damian turned and stopped him. "Let her be, Maddox. Trust me when I say it's probably for the best that you not follow. Somewhere out there is a newer member who tried to calm her when she wanted to be left alone. I think he still feels cold to the touch."
