The sound of leathers and other assorted bits drew Alexanders attention behind him, his sword already halfway out of its sheathe. He had been expecting a soldier to have slipped in, not Calliope to actually be saddling a horse. Then he remembered, she did have experience in such acts... He remembered that they didn't keep horses prepared to leave, then, it was too much of a strain on the beasts back. He'd wasted time looking for something that wasn't there, while Calliope had actually done something to help the two of them. He walked over to the horse and decided to help Calliope onto the beast, after it was saddled and ready to be ridden. She would go on first, in front of him, so that he could control the beast more efficiently, and keep her secure in the process. Once she was on the horse, he'd climb on himself, and begin to steer the beast away from the manor. It was the best he could do, already hearing the sounds of soldiers coming closer. He knew that they had cavalry, and would likely start roaming around to find stragglers, like themselves, if they didn't go. He kicked the horse into a gallop once he was able, sending them flying down a dirt path and away from the manor.
