To most, she appears to be a outgoing, generally high strung, intelligent and likes getting along with people. They think she's just a pleasant little girl who gets along well with everyone and isn't shy in the least. Well, they're not wrong, but they're not right either. The truth is, she's just a perpetually annoyed child. The more time people spend around her (As in, more than four seconds), the more they begin to realize this about her. She's sarcastic and thinks very highly of herself and her skills, and is not afraid to let others know it, not caring what they think of her in the process. She's generally not afraid fighting anyone, even alien horrors. She's independent, and quite assertive in her methods and if she wants something, she will get it. However, despite her cynical and somewhat fiery disposition, she does in fact play well with others on a team and won't just go off and do her own thing. At least she tries to take orders and do well with teamwork without giving much fuss. She does try to get along with others, and realizes that her own short patience for people in general is a problem and has been working on it, with some success. Her attitude still needs a lot of work, but she's trying. Above all though, ever since her sister was hospitalized, she doesn't like seeing people get hurt, and if she sees someone getting bullied or being hurt, she'll step in without hesitation even if it causes her to become hurt herself. She will unerringly defend the weak because they can't defend themselves, because that's what those with power should do. and while she is quite cynical, she still believes that humanity as a whole is good and deserves a chance at proving itself. [b]Battle-Style[/b] A leader type Melee fighter with defensive abilities. She prefers to use her enemies own attacks against them by waiting for them to attack, then hitting them where they least expect it. A bit of a defensive beserker, if such a thing were to exist. She likes to parry enemies attacks with her mechs built in arm guards, and in that brief second where they are open, she strikes with surprising speed. First one on the field, and the last one on the field to leave, ensuring her allies escape/retreat. [b]Hospitalized Special One[/b] Her twin sister, Ashlyn, was hospitalized after having her spinal cord completely crushed after protecting her. Her sister was always the calmer one of the two. Some might say she was shy, but she simply spoke only what was needed, and always ended up coming to her defense when she or anyone else was in trouble. (which was quite often) This is her main drive for doing what she does, and she vowed to do what she couldn't when they were kids. Protect others instead of just causing trouble. Her sister has been in a coma for the past year. Her mother was killed in the Cruxi attack on her home. Her father was KIA a few years prior to the assault. [b]Background[/b] Isabel and her sister, Ashlyn, grew up with their mother on some far off colony world that had been relatively peaceful compared to a bunch of other war-torn worlds and colonies. Many believed that the Cruxi wouldn't bother them, out of some misguided hope or denial that the aliens were even a threat. Isabel herself, actually [i]wanted[/i] to fight them. Why? Well, probably because she was just always a bit of a troublemaker and not that bright as a child and was always getting into fights. Her sister on the other hand, was the more rational and calm of the two, always bailing her out of trouble. Not just her, either. She always liked to help people and stand up for them. When the Cruxi ships landed, it was utter chaos as people made their way to the evac zones. The Cruxi razed everything, and the soldiers there that were supposed to defend them could hardly stop their advance. Her mother was one of the first to have been killed in the Assault. And for the first time in her young life, she was utterly terrified of the Cruxi, for all her big talk of giving them a thorough pummeling if they showed up. She could hardly stand when faced with an actual Cruxi. If it wasn't for Ashlyn literally pulling her away, she'd have been dead. The two ran, Ashlyn pulling Isabel along as they made their way towards an evac station. Unfortunately, they didn't make it. A building collapsed on top of them as they ran, Ashlyn managed to shove Isabel out of the way. Isabel managed to get away with only a few scrapes and bruises. Ashlyn, wasn't so lucky. Thankfully, they were found by a few retreating soldiers who managed to dig them both out of the debris. The next thing she knew, she was on a medical transport with her sister on life support, barely being kept alive. She herself only had a broken arm and a few cuts and bruises. Eventually, they made their way back to earth where Ashlyn was transferred to a larger facility that could better take care of her. They had managed to save her life, but she was in a bad coma, and the doctors didn't know when, or if she would wake as the falling debris crushed her spinal cord. If she did wake, they could perform surgery to replace most of the damaged bones and tissue with prosthetic substitutes. To Isabel though, that was just doctors trying to make her feel better for not being able to do anything. She realized that Ashlyn has always been helping her, and standing up for her when she got in trouble with her shenanigans. So, she made the decision to join the military when she was old enough, so that perhaps she would be able to do something she could never do for her sister - Defend people instead of just causing trouble for everyone. It was about this time, she was approached by people from the project. She didn't hear anything about the details, just the 'you'll be able to fight Cruxi' part. She went with them without hesitation.[/center][/hider] [hider=Kampfen] [center] [b]Framework Name[/b] Kampfen [b]Appearance[/b] [img=http://th04.deviantart.net/fs27/PRE/i/2009/250/b/1/PT_01_Initium_by_ArtNotHearts.jpg] Kampfen has a somewhat bulky design, causing it to be somewhat slower and less mobile than other mechs. However, it makes up for it in its defensive and attack capabilities, [b]Primary Weapon-Type[/b] ~Rechtfertigen Shield Array~ If the shields on its arms count as a weapon, then they'll do. They are highly resistant to most forms of ranged fire and close combat weapons, be they explosions, small weapons fire, or a sword. Normally they can just cover the area their physical metal plates protect. However, at the cost of some additional mobility, they can extend a force-field to cover a larger area. If just one is used, it can create a field similar to the cover range of what a human sized shield could make for a human. If it forgoes all attack and most of its mobility and uses both shields, it can create a cover range that would block all incoming fire in a wide range around Kampfen creating a protective shield for anything standing behind it. Singularly, the shields could be used as a powerful bashing weapon [b]Secondary Weapon Type[/b] ~Vergeltung Blades~ Kampfens' weapons are two retractable nano-thin blades that extend from beneath its shields. Slender, yet strong and able to cut through most metals and other human made alloys with ease and surprising speed. Can also be used to parry attacks from other melee weapons and such. If used creatively, they can be very devastating. She uses a mix of hand-to-hand combat with the blades, along with the bashing abilities of her shields. Additionally, it has a few built in rockets on its shoulder joints and a focused laser on the crown of its head piece. [b]Side-socket 1[/b] ~Mechanized Joints~ The joints of Kampfen are exceptionally strong, and are able to lift much heavier loads and hit harder thanks to them. Even at close range with little room for ability to swing, they can pack a hell of a punch with great speed, being able to crush anything with ease once her fists latch onto them. Even the retractable blades benefit from these specialized combat joints, further increasing their deadly abilities. These reinforced joints enable the mech to easily be able to overpowered lesser equipped opponents. Additionally, the leg joints allow the Kampfen to survive quite long falls, and be able to jump quite high distances, should it need to. [b]Side-socket 2[/b] ~Artemis Energy Pistol mk1~ Kampfen carries a lightweight, medium ranged pistol. Doesn't use it often, but if there is ever a need for medium ranged fighting, she won't hesitate to use it. Doesn't carry a whole lot of ammo, and once its out, it's out unless someone has some bullets she can borrow. [b]Special Ability[/b] ~Rechtfertigen Shield Array - Overclocked~ The shields split into various nodes, creating a massive, circular nigh-impenetrable shield around their designated target. Used creatively, they can be used both defensively and offensively. Defensively, they could be used to contain a large explosion, or create various protective barriers around a number of allies should they need them. Offensively, they could close around a number of enemies and steadily close in on them until they are nothing but scrap metal. There needs to be at least three of these nodes around a target to create a functional shield. [b]Other:[/b] Fun facts: Kampfen means fight, or 'to struggle' in German.
