An ability I once had for an old RP character was that he could create energy rings he could bend and shape, and one of the special properties was that he could connect two rings together in order to create a portal portal-gun style. The limitation was that he had to use pure muscle in order to throw these discs like a frisbee, so while he was a good throw sometimes it would be hard to predict where the other end of a portal would end up with wind and other factors causing it to land somewhere unexpected. He also had razor sharp disc throwing skills of course.
