The dogs are a lil too fast for bows, and I've got to deal with LOSING HALF MY HEALTH RIGHT AT THE START OF THE FIGHT AUGH. I think the spear will do the job though, since the heavy attack does more than half their health and I can follow up with a few more stabs and chug my Estus.

I should invest in Endurance so I can get heavier armor and still be able to move. DAMN THIS LEATHER!
