I glanced back at him, nodding along slowly as his cool persona began to unravel, much to my delight. Kevin, was it? No.. Klaus? No.... Ah. Kyle. Yes, that was it. I was slightly embarrassed by his revelation. Joking, huh? Well, he'd seemed pretty serious at the time. However, I shrugged of my slight embarrassment, and replaced it with a dubious expression. Rex? Oh, his brother. Duh. 
I opened my mouth to excuse myself, when he cut me off once more, quickly changing the subject in a manner quite random.

"Do you like to read?"

I glanced again at the book in his hand, before allowing my eyes to flicker once more back to his. My eyebrow rose slightly, but I answered in a kind enough tone. "Yeah... why do you ask?" 

Okay, perhaps I was being a little too nonchalant. In reality, I adored reading. It had always been an escape for me, as cheesy as that might sound. Ugh, that sounds way to saccharine. I just like reading, okay?
