Hey guys. So, while the IC is being written, I figured I'd post a bit of a bullet point summary of what's happened in the story so far. Hopefully I've remembered everything. :p - Varya sets out to conquer the eastern continent of El. They send a vast armada of arks across the eastern sea on an invasion campaign. Aboard the arks are thousands of Varyan soldiers as well as several inquisitors. It is the largest army ever assembled by Lord Varya. - Six months into the journey, the grand Varyan Armada sends a lone transmission back to the motherland, informing church and military leaders waiting back home of their arrival on the Elurian mainland. It is believed that more transmissions were sent, but the content of these messages is not shared with the public or the rest of the military and clergy. - Mysteriously, the Varyan Church assimilates the Regular Army into its fold. The two separate branches have historically acted independently of each other, but no longer. The head priests of the Church now control the military, which does not sit easy with members of the regular army. - Two weeks after the transmission from El reaches Varya, a class of priests graduates from the Red Seminary and are ordained as Varyan inquisitors. Not three days after their graduation, they are given orders by the Church to embark towards El on a missionary expedition to attempt to convert the inhabitants of El to the Varyan Faith. The newly ordained inquisitors are granted use of two newly manufactured Arks, the Fafnir and the Tigress, to make the treacherous journey across the ever shifting ice fields. They will also be accompanied by a company of soldiers, sailors, and support personnel. Strangely, one of the graduating priests, Father Dara, the inquisitor with the rawest ethereal power of the class, is not chosen for the mission. - Commander Zoya Kiriyev, a retired veteran of the Lanostran War, is called back into duty in order to lead the inquisitor's military support. An old subordinate of hers, Deputy Commander Lev Dragonov, is also chosen for the mission. She must leave her husband and young son behind, a fact that does not sit easy with her. - The day after the two arks are blessed by a Varyan priest in a divine ceremony, a large shipment of Omestri slaves is found to have been included in the Fafnir's manifest. The slaves, of which there are about fifty, have been "gifted" to the expedition by a Varyan nobleman for ethereal extraction purposes. The inquisitors are called to the cargo hold and are asked by DC Dragonov how to deal with this sudden gift. (At this point, I kind of need a reminder of how your character reacted to this development with the slaves. I remember that Motya was especially against their mistreatment, but nothing more than that. I really need to know your characters' response to this, as it kind of ties into the new opening post.) That's about it, I think. If I forgot anything, let me know guys.
