They share 99.88% of H. s. sapiens' genome. They have less robust pelvises, lumbar spines, and hips, while their limbs are generally longer; their skulls are slightly elongated towards the rear of their heads; the composition of their muscles are slightly different, favoring fast twitch over slow twitch fibers. Before gene therapies and microaugmentation became widely available, the early Spacers were essentially incapable of living and working in environments approaching (and certainly not exceeding) 1G. Nowadays all but the poorest Spacers generally undergo treatment to tolerate normal gravity indefinitely. Still, they have a reputation for being gangly and awkward under weight, but stunningly graceful in weightlessness; the proverbial fishes out of water. [b]Personality:[/b] Razlo has a groove, a sort of confident swagger that refuses to be surpressed. While not always optimistic, he is at least upbeat in his pessimism. No matter how dire or gruesome the circumstances, it doesn't seem to bother him much. He is shrewd, eccentric, and more than a bit unhinged. He often parables bizarre stories from Hell Station that he asserts to be 100% true, but with his knack for lying, who knows? His morality is extreemly flexible, though he has thus far managed to keep to Tesera's code of conduct. He is adept at lateral thinking, finding unusual solutions to problems. In terms of combat, he's a sneaky, tricky, unfair bastard. [b]Class type:[/b] Scoundrel, Pistolero [b]Powers:[/b][list][*][i]Lucky:[/i] In a word, Razlo has the devil's own luck. It's not something he consciously controls, and it's not something that can be relied upon all the time, but when the chips are down and he could really use a lucky break, he usually seems to get one.[/*] [*][i]Jinx:[/i] Pretty much the opposite of his 'Lucky' power, people behaving antagonistically towards Razlo seem to run into setbacks at every turn. Again, not a super-reliable power, it just seems to kick in at (in)opportune moments.[/*] [*][i]Silver-Tongued:[/i] Razlo is a phenomenal liar. Even outlandish and bizarre lies seem perfectly reasonable when they come from Razlo. If Razlo leaves the presence of the person he's lied to though, the effect weakens and they begin to doubt the lie until eventually it wears off entirely. Willpower can be used to resist against this ability to some degree, and psychic defences can block it entirely. Beings with incredibly alien minds are often effected differently than humans. Technology meant to detect lies (via reading bloodflow, brain waves, etc.) are unable to pick up on Razlo's.[/*] [/list][b]History:[/b] In deep space, beyond the gravitational reach of any planet or star there exists an infamous space station: Hermes-311, or as it's more commonly referred to, [b][i]Hell Station[/i][/b]. Started three hundred years ago as a penal colony for felons exiled from the planets of an interstellar coalition, Hermes-311 was meant to be a selfsufficient but remote and immobile place for convicts to live out their lives away from the citizens of the coalition. That intended function was lost when a pirate fleet found the station and brokered deals with the inmates 248 years ago. The inmates allowed the pirates to use the station as a base of operation, and the pirates brought in contraband and let convicts work in their crews. The cons eager to leave the station went out on pirates raids, and the pirates eager to put up their feet and enjoy their loot used the station as a hideout. In short order it was a revolving door, the line between con and pirate became so blurry as to be meaningless. Now the station is known and feared as a hive of scum and villainy, where anything can be bought, sold, or screwed. It might not be a war zone, or a harsh alien environment, but when it comes to base human wretchedness, Hell Station is hard to match. Razlo grew up in the slums of Hell Station, a weird and rough childhood to say the least. He was familiar with smugglers, weirdos, gladiators, prostitutes, psychopaths, pimps, midgets (that were usually some combination of the aforementioned), aliens, and more. Day to day, depending on the circumstances, even people he generally considered 'friends' might be out for his head, and then a few days later they might be cool again. Or they might still want to put a bullet in him, in which case Razlo either wound up getting them first, or moving to a different part of the station. The bowels of Hell Station are not the sorts of places outsiders can make their way through without trouble. Between the various gangs, structural hazards, and lone crazies that inhabit the depths, going in without knowing your way around is asking for a crappy time. With that in mind, Razlo was paid as an informant and guide for a Tesera operation that needed to go deep. His ingenuity and skill earned a few raised eyebrows, and by the end of the op an invitation had been extended to him. [b]How long have you been with Tesera:[/b] Three Months [b]Weapons:[/b][list][*]Zoomerang: A collapsible boomerang that shrouds itself in superheated plasma when taken outside the range of a safety chip Zaaz wears. The chip projects a 1.5 meter 'safety bubble' around him wherein the 'rang wont activate its plasma, but once it's thrown out of the bubble it gets to work. When the 'rang comes back and reenters the safety bubble, the plasma automatically disperses so that the 'rang can be caught again.[/*] [*]Monowire Tripwires: These devices are about the size of a quarter, but twice as thick. One side is adhesive and can be stuck to most surfaces, while the other side houses a spool of wire tipped with an anchor. When the mine is stuck to a surface, after a short delay the wire is shot out and the anchor fixes itself in an adjacent surface. The wire itself is only about a micron thick, but the tensile and shear strengths of the wire prevent it from snapping easily. The end result is an incredibly sharp tripwire that's practically invisible to the naked eye.[/*] [*]Frisbee Grenades: 6" throwing discs in a variety of payloads; Flashbang, Knockout Gas, Poison Gas, Shrapnel, EMP, Concussion, and Smoke. They can be set to detonate on contact with a solid surface, after a timed delay, or remotely with controls in his gloves.[/*] [*]SuperBall Grenades: The same variety of payloads and options, except the grenades are housed in highly elastic spherical casings.[/*] [*]Hidden Boot Knives: Each of Razlo's boots holds a hidden, retractable blade that extends past the toes. The boots also hold a small refillable resevoire for poison, which he usually keeps filled with a blood-vectored neurotoxin that causes temporary paralysis to the skeletal muscles. Their barrels and cylinders are equiped with adaptive lumens, changing diameter (within reason) to meet the caliber loaded into them. Their holsters are equipped with a mechanized device that spins and loads the cylinders when the guns are holstered, allowing for fast reloads in extended firefights.[/hider] [b]Equipment:[/b][list][*]Power Gloves: Razlo's gloves contain a set of remote controls that can be synced to most common devices, as long as he already has admin access to those devices. He loves them, they're so bad.[/*] [*]Imaging Goggles: His goggles contain a basic sensor suite, enabling him to view the infrared and ultraviolet spectrums, and to overlay a ultrasound map over his vision. They also contain a flare compensation device to protect his eyes from bright flashes.[/*] [*]Armored Overcoat: Razlo's coat is made from a durable composite material. It's resistant to piercing and slashing, and has armored plates over the vital areas. It has a quickdraw system built into the sleeves that can deposit a prepared item (per sleeve) into his hands almost instantly after recieving a remote command from his gloves. It also has a life-support module that projects a pressurized environmental bubble around his head in a vacuum or hostile atmosphere. Most importantly though (at least to him) it has lots of pockets.[/*][/List]
