My FTL jamming system works similarly but quite separately, real space would be affected. The jammer is simply feeding energy back into superluminal objects equivalent to the speed they are moving over lightspeed to bring them back to lightspeed. So if you are exiting from a window, wormhole, or are going superluminal in real space the jammer field will still interact with objects moving at superluminal speeds. The issue is this, the fields are seriously dangerous simply due to the fact they cause enormous explosions when a vessel tries to infringe on the field, these are direct energy dumps working to slow the object to subluminal speeds. So my formations are always sparse given that suicide vessels from the enemy could try and use the field to their advantage, though sacrificing ships is rarely a good idea. Also, this limits all communication within the field to subluminal speeds. As for my ship numbers, given that information i would say this is about what i have: Outdated Reserve (Grounded, In Disrepair): ~320 Modern Surplus (Grounded, Mothballed): ~130 Modern Active Duty: ~1240 Now those numbers have a degree of reasoning behind them that I can explain in PM if you so request, that reasoning relates to doctrine, economic capacity, etc.
