Name: Esther Vanhomrigh Age: 16 Personality/Appearance: [I have chosen to leave this part blank, to allow others to draw their own conclusions as to her personality through their character interactions with her. Instead, this part will be substituted by a more detailed description of her physical appearance.] Esther stands at 5'6 and weighs in at 140 pounds. Her body mostly comprised of lean, solid muscle. Her lithe figure hard-earned from her time spent physically training with her father and from regular visits to the gym. Her time spent outdoors giving her a light-tan skin tone, same as her father. Also having her father's hair and eyes, she keeps her jet-black hair in a short bob. Her eyes a deep and dark brown, with light freckles across her cheeks and nose. She's rather self-conscious of her small nose and small, pouty-looking lips, along with her 'freakishly-huge' ears. Which, would give some explanation as to her choice of hairstyle. Battle-Style: Designated Marksman Support Role. She prefers to stay behind at a range in a rear supportive position to provide accurate, long-range fire, but isn't afraid to engage in close range combat if the need arises. Hospitalized Special One: Father – Committed to a mental health hospital before Esther's special enlistment into the military and subsequent selection as a Project L.A.D. Candidate. Background: Before anyone could say anything about Esther, you must first take note and mention her father. Her father being a significant part of her life as the singular, most important person to her. Her father being the only family she ever knew and has. Johnathan S. Vanhomrigh enlisted into the military at a very young age, right after the completion of his education. Enlisting into a combat-related occupational specialty, he would spend most of his adult life on constant deployments to the outer-lying colonies to war against the Cruxi. During his time spent in combat he was unfortunately, grievously injured in battle. Ending up losing both of his legs and arms. His limbs later replaced with bionic prosthetics. No longer able to fulfill his job as a 'Grunt', he was removed from the front lines and medically discharged from the armed forces after he recovered. As a veteran, he embraced his new civilian life and attempted to raise a family. Tragedy would strike yet again as upon going into labor he lost his wife due to complications as she gave birth to twins. The first child would his stillborn son. The second child would be his young daughter, clinging desperately to life. Fighting from the very moment of her birth, 'Esther' as she was named, survived after a harrowing struggle. Esther being born with heart complications. Having lost his wife and son, 'John' would devote the rest of his life into raising Esther properly with as much care and love as he could give, her existence becoming the center of his world. Being a single father, raising Esther alone proved difficult. But nonetheless, Esther grew up never having gone hungry, always had a roof over her head, clothes to wear, a bed to sleep in, and was provided a basic education. During her younger years, she was viciously harassed and bullied by her peers for her lack of a mother and for only having a 'Robot Father'. From a very young age, she learned of her father's prior military service and of the conditions of her birth. As a result of this knowledge, a heavy amount of guilt would forever cling to her heart. Believing herself to be at fault for her 'broken' family. Desiring to connect on a deeper level with her father, she asked him of his time in the military and craved to learn all that he knew. This resulted in her father unintentionally 'training' her, providing her knowledge of military combat doctrines, combat techniques, physical conditioning, and etc. Though born with heart problems, she would mature into an athletic and strong young woman. All was not well, however. As Esther continued to grow and mature, her father's underlying mental issues as a result of his service began to rear its ugly head. Vivid hallucinations, night terrors, and insomnia drove her father to near insanity. His post-traumatic stress disorder pushing him to his very limits. In turn, he turned to heavy alcohol usage and prescription drug abuse to drown his mental trauma, only compounding the problem further and endangering his health. It all came to a head when one night, one of his 'episodes' became particularly bad and he attacked his own daughter thinking she was an enemy combatant during his time at war. Later cursing her birth and blaming her for the death of his wife and unborn son in a fit of rage-filled, drunken, drug-enhanced hallucinations. With the neighbors interfering, the police were involved and Johnathan was detained and arrested. While Esther was taken into protective custody. Upon his following trial, judge and jury determined his mental health was in a severe condition and he was declared to be unfit to continue caring for Esther. He was then involuntarily committed to a mental health clinic for treatment as ordered by the court. When the military learned of his domestic abuse charges pressed by civil authorities, they denounced his prior military service record and downgraded his honorable discharge to a dishonorable discharge. Furious, alone, and with her father being dishonored and stolen from her, she sought a way to make things right. When she was ironically approached by a recruiter for her high aptitude test scores, she immediately dropped out of high school to enlist into the Project L.A.D. Program as a candidate pilot. She believed that she was the source of all of her father's problems. She believed that by enlisting into the military, same as her father, she could better understand the demons and nightmares that plagued him. She believed that she could somehow clear her father from the negative charges against him and restore his honor. Above all, she desired to walk in her father's footsteps and honorably serve her fellow man, the same as he did... Other/Personal Quirks: She enjoys read comics, books and 'manga' She enjoys watching cartoons and 'anime' She enjoys playing video games She enjoys going to the gym She enjoys music, particularly the rock, pop, and electronic music genres. 'SPR' – Is a Framework rifle based on the concept of a rail-gun. In which a projectile is accelerated to hyper-sonic velocities utilizing an electromagnetic 'pulse'. Using the sheer kinetic force behind it as its payload. [The link has three images, fyi.] Its limitations include: High Recoil High 'signature' (The concussive muzzle blast and flash) Can have a slow rate of fire Tendency to overheat under increased rates of fire Requires ammunition Cannot easily penetrate energy shields Is only semi-automatic. One trigger squeeze = one shot. Secondary Weapon: The 'Cross Blade' – The Cross Blade is essentially a sword made up of plasma energy that takes the odd shape of a cross whenever wielded. It's able to cut through most, if not all, armor to include energy shields. Its sole purpose is for close-ranged melee combat. Side-socket #1: Automatic Pulse Machine Pistol abb. 'APMP' – A select-fire Machine pistol that can either be semi-automatic or fully-automatic. It is essentially a drastically scaled down rail-gun in pistol form. With its dramatically smaller caliber and kinetic energy payload being a fraction of the SPR, its sole purpose is for close-ranged combat. It has the same limitations of the SPR but with reductions in recoil, signature, range, damage, and tendency to overheat. If used on full-auto, it can rapidly chew through ammunition stores. It is stored in a hidden compartment in the Framework's outer right thigh. Side-socket #2: Head-mounted, Optically-tracked, Auto-cannons abb. 'HOAs' – Mounted on the Framework's head are dual auto-cannons that fire a armor-piercing, high explosive incendiary shell in 3-round bursts. As the Framework's 'eyes' are synchronized with the pilot's heads-up display, where ever the pilot should look is where the cannons will aim and fire. As these are more archaic, the HOAs are the Framework's weakest weapons and should only be used in desperate emergency situations as last resort weapons. Their combat effectiveness is not on par with other, more current Framework armaments. Their pro/cons include (when compared to the Framework's other weapons) Lower recoil More accurate Extreme rate of fire without worry of overheating Explosive, incendiary payload Reduced damage Reduced range Reduced signature Requires ammunition Can NOT penetrate energy shields Only effective against armor Special Ability: 'Dark Hold' – Firing 'Halos' or rings of light from its palms, it can localize an area of varying size to 'freeze' anything trapped within its stasis field. Over time, anything trapped within the field is subject to intense gravitational forces, eventually crushing whatever is caught within the field. The smaller the object, the quicker it becomes compressed and compacted. The larger the object, the slower the crushing effect and more time it'll take before eventual pulverization. While the Framework is utilizing this ability, the rest of its weapons become locked, unable to be used. This places it in an extremely vulnerable state and makes it susceptible to enemy attack by anything outside of its field. The ability requires the absolute focus and concentration of both Pilot and Framework. If concentration is broken, the field fails and the ability goes on a cool-down timer of 3 minutes before it could be used again. Other/Misc. notes: As one of the first few prototype Frameworks, the MESHIA does not have some of the same, more advanced functions and weaponry as do other Frameworks. Primarily utilizing more conventional kinetic energy projectile weapons and basic functions and systems. For its defensive measures, as of this writing it solely relies on its thick, heavy armor and does not utilize an energy shield of any sort. Nor does it have any other protective countermeasures such as stealth systems and the like. Its armor adding to much of its weight, it is unable to move as agilely and swiftly as other Frameworks and does not have the ability to fly. Though, it does have a gravity drive that gives it slight mobility and freedom of movement, granting it a sort of levitation. Possibly due to its age, countless other pilots that have attempted to pilot it registered abysmal synchronization rates. Curiously, those who have attempted to pilot MESHIA are reported to have had hallucinations and nightmares afterwards. Their cognitive functions becoming permanently affected or impaired.
