Name: Arlana Kailor Gender: Female Species: Human Age: 27 Homeworld: Alderaan Appearance: Personality: Arlana is a gentle, kind-hearted healer that circumstance forced to carry a sword. Repeatedly going from the battlefield to the hospital and back again has left her frayed and hurting, hiding her horror and anguish at watching so many die - innocent bystanders, clone soldiers, fellow Jedi, even enemy combatants - and even forced to command them, lead them to their deaths and bringing out death herself at the tip of her saber has left her at the brink of collapse, bottling her emotions behind a rote memorization of the Jedi Code. This bottle has burst before, leaving her nearly insensate following a battle. The next time could be far worse. Flaws: Arlana is comfortable. Not with the war, but within the Order. She's never seriously wanted for more, happy to accept the doctrines of the Council and live her life by their edicts. Suddenly being cut off from that, forced to abandon the ways the Council taught in order to survive is something she's never had to experience, and is certainly not ready for. She's a gentle, loving person, and watching everything she knows and loves put to the torch before her eyes could very well strain her past the breaking point. In a situation like this it's not unlikely she'll develop a self-righteous bent, hiding her own collapse under lecture of others. Skills: As far as Lightsaber combat goes Arlana has trained exclusively on Form III: Soresu, with the exception of her very basic grounding in Shii-Cho. She believes that the defensive posture it emphasizes is the only appropriate one for a Jedi, and four years of war have honed her skill with it to a razor's edge. While not counted among the great swordsmen of the Order she is certainly no pushover, and even against someone truly great she has the speed, skill, and stamina to draw the fight out considerably. She has a knack for language, most notably the Outer Rim Trade Languages Sy Bisti and Meese Caulf, Arlana possesses a natural skill as a diplomat and a peacemaker - a skill that has been of surprising use during this war. Equipment: A fairly bog-standard lightsaber with a dark blue blade. She's gotten into the habit of carrying medical supplies as well, a satchel on her hip holding painkillers, stimulants, blood-loss agents, bacta spray, and bandages. She also carries her datapad, which holds several terabytes of medical data. Force Abilities: Arlana has deliberately shunned the use of the Force in combat, finding it to be at best disrespectful and at worst an open window to the Dark Side. Telekinetic tricks were never her forte anyway. Her focus was initially on the healing arts, a place where she excelled, able to drive out illness, knit wounds, and ease pain with relative ease. Battle and the threat of battle with the Dark Acolytes of Count Dooku has caused her to study a new skill, the ability to guard herself and others from attack by the powers of the Dark Side, and with a moment of preparation can catch and disperse even Sith Lightning with no harm done. Personal History: Arlana's life began much like most Jedi - taken from her parents in infancy, raised in the Order. Her time as a Padawan was fairly typical, and it was here that she discovered and began to hone her talent for the healing arts. Her Master, Alira Zan-Kussal, encouraged this growth during the duo's journey across the outer rim of the Republic, the two coming to a world and simply wandering it, healing their hurts - the ones in their flesh, the ones in their minds, and the ones in their communities, before moving on to another world. Better days. Four years ago Arlana earned her Knighthood, and left her Master's side forever. Only weeks afterward the Clone Wars began, and Arlana found herself a general, commanding a unit of clones. Worlds she had visited with her master and left them better she now returned to, sometimes as defender and sometimes as attacker, and always leaving only destruction and chaos in her wake despite her best efforts. Faces that had once greeted her with relief and joy soon became faces of fear knowing that she was the precursor to an invasion, or hatred after she had invaded. The long sanding at Arlana's soul would come to a brief respite after the terrible Battle of Gan Kallier - a massive Republic force met an equally massive CIS force in a battle for a world that only mattered because of the hyperspace route it offered, the world itself uncared for by any except the inhabitants who would find their lush jungles and rolling plains ablaze as Republic and Confederate battleships plummeted from the skies and crashed to earth, leaving only desolation in their wake. Arlana was on the front lines of the final battle for the world, brutal house to house fighting as she and her clones cleared the city house to house, brutal fighting that lasted four straight days before the Republic declared victory. Arlana would be nowhere to be seen at the meeting of the Jedi Generals, only being found hours later hunched over the body of her Clone Commander, desperately trying to heal a man who had been nearly torn in half by blaster fire, her mind utterly blank with horror. She was relieved of her command and sent back to Coruscant, and has spent the intervening months being counseled by the Order, and has, according to her healers, made significant progress, with plans to return her to her command within the next few weeks.
