"We will send a letter every time we reach a city." Meesei said reassuringly. "And I promise I will dedicate everything I can to raising her to be the fine young woman she is becoming. Even with her insatiable curiosity, she only has a few years to make up for lost time, so I swear that I will give her every lesson I can. I will never deny her the answer to any question, to any kind of knowledge she seeks. By the time she matures fully, I promise she will be at no disadvantage to anyone else. Goodnight, Ariel." Meesei caught up to the others quickly after taking her leave. With how slowly Kaleeth was having to move, they had not gotten all that far. Night had fallen hours ago, not that anyone in the pack had trouble seeing. Although they did receive a few looks from a few suspicious looking individuals as they passed by, they were not bothered as they left the city, either because they were not actually criminals, or because the pack was too large of a group to bother. The walk back to the location of their camp was going painfully slow at first, until Lorag recommended that Janius just pick up and carry Kaleeth. Immediately afterwards, she attempted to literally jump into his arms, only to fall flat on her face, though if it caused any pain, Kaleeth did not seem to feel it. She simply allowed Janius to pick her up off the ground so that they could continue at an improved pace to camp. Once at their spot at the beach, Meesei started building their fire while the others quickly unpacked the bedrolls. Kaleeth was obviously in no condition to help, but she was making it difficult for Janius to put her down by keeping her arms wrapped tightly around him. "You...you should carry me more often." Kaleeth said blissfully.
