In peace, vigilance. In war, victory. In death, sacrifice. - Grey Warden oath. For four hundred years the Great Enemy has remained dormant. In their dark dwellings, in the Deep Roads, the Darkspawn searched endlessly for their prophets: old gods in the forms of dragons, corrupted by the Darkspawn into Archdemons. These creatures, little more than myth to most, begin the Blights that tear the world apart. Unstoppable and unrelenting armies blanket the nations of Thedas in darkness. Now, in 9:30 of the Dragon Age, another Blight has begun, lead by an old god. The Korcari Wilds in the south of Ferelden are being overrun by the Enemy. While the Darkspawn may be fought by conventional means, the Archdemons leading them are all but immortal. The only weapons capable of defeating them, and therefore ending the Blight, are the Grey Wardens. Men and women of all races and walks of life, knights and magi, thieves and barbarians, combatants without peer, each sworn to give their lives against the Darkspawn. Four hundred years after the last Blight was ended by the Warden Garahel, the Fifth Blight has begun. The feudal armies of Ferelden have massed to face the Enemy head on. What few Grey Wardens exist in Ferelden, ever vigilant, are prepared to give the ultimate sacrifice. - - - OOC: Dragon Age is incredible. I'll just start with that. Grimdark fantasy, ends-justify-the-means-type heroes, inevitable doom despite victory. I personally love fantasy, and I know I'm not alone there, so I thought I'd throw this out there to see if anyone bites. My idea is essentially the plot of the Origins game (because it's a massive enough journey with plenty of opportunity for side adventures) with a few alterations, such as not all Wardens dying at Ostagar, for the sake of the RP, etc. However, I'm very open to ideas, so if anybody is interested and has any plot concepts let me know!
