WEAPON: A handsome bow personally handcrafted by Seth himself. It has crude, decorative pictures of bird Pokemon etched into the wood. APPEARANCE: Seth is short in stature at only 5'5" and appears much younger and more boyish than his true age due to his delicate, almost effeminate facial features. He has narrow, bird-like amber eyes with excellent long-distance eyesight at the detriment to his ability to see things close to him clearly. As a result, they seem to flicker from side to side or cloud over when talking to someone. It is not uncommon to see him covered in dirt or with feathers sticking to him. PERSONALITY: Quiet and socially awkward due to a great amount of his time spent in the company of Pokemon, Seth has never really had a chance to befriend other humans. He tends to forget the manners and just general pleasantries he learned early in life in favour of brutal, straight-to-the-point honesty. What even is small talk? With most of his life having been outside the boundaries of civilisation, he prefers to live an altruistic lifestyle without greed or much wealth, living off the land and befriending the creatures of the wild. Due to this, Seth is often restless and easily bored. Without travel, he has little else to do with his time and so whenever he is struck by a bout of wanderlust he follows it to the ends of the earth. HISTORY: Seth was born in a temperate region of Ayero near the sea in an idyllic village, unusual only in that it was built atop seven hills. It was far enough away from the hustle and bustle of civilisation that Pokemon could be found wherever you looked, be it in the slime of the back-alleys behind the tavern or in the tall grass bordering the furthest away farms, leading out onto the endless, empty plains. The most prevalent type in the region, however, were birds of various kinds and their evolutions – pidgeys, skarmorys, wingulls... all of them migrated during the cooler months to the town. While not lords or ladies, Seth's family owned (and had inherited) Featherheart Tower, a marvel of medieval engineering in that it stood nine stories high, excluding the roof, without toppling over from the wind that gusted freely through the openings. The aviary attracted many Pokemon, but it was specifically built for those that were too weak or sickly to migrate with the other members of their species. It was Seth's parents' job to manage and care for them, and the family in charge was always blessed with the protection of a particular Zapdos. When Seth was young, he was practically forced into training, learning from the best bird-Pokemon fanatics around and their loyal companions. On his fifth birthday, he was given an egg of his own, taken from a Pidgeot with prestigious heritage that the family kept. Once it hatched, he named his future best friend and caretaker Belle for her lustrous feathers and for being exceptionally pretty, in general. Over many years, he honed his friendship with her to absolute, unconditional loyalty on both sides – almost two decades ago they were a common sight, flying over the plains from city to city to pass messages and goods on – and times were good. Unfortunately, not everyone took kindly to Featherheart Tower's monopoly over the denizens of the skies. Though the people of the village respected them, meddling noble families thought they were both an eyesore and despised their interfering with the sport of hunting the rarer species – namely Farfetch'd. They were already making waves in the court, well on their way to becoming a noble family themselves through centuries of hard-work by each and every generation; however, all it took was revealing a long-hidden secret for it all to crumble. Seth's mother was a Morph, living on the highest level of the tower, and she had to be taken out for the good of the nation. And so, Featherheart Tower was burned to the ground and the villagers who defended it scattered. Countless Pokemon were killed in the battle as an army of humans and their rock-types versus the delicate birds was destined to be bloody. Seth was eleven years old at the time, Belle still a Pidgeotto albeit a large one, and had been trapped on the fifth floor. His mother, likely widowed by that time, had told him to leave as she transformed, heading downstairs to hold off the waves of soldiers. Seth did listen to his mother's orders at the last possible second, causing both he and his Pokemon to be injured quite severely, but nevertheless they escaped. The fall of Featherheart Tower was traumatic to the boy and well-known throughout the kingdom as a tragedy; however, it was a turning point in Seth's life as he began to live off the land, studying and befriending various species in their natural environment. Nothing dulled the thirst for revenge that clouded his better nature and he began to consider Ayero an enemy – and if his own country were, he could only assume its counterpart was just as traitorous towards its people, human or otherwise. In his mid-teens until his mid-twenties, Seth was the driving force behind his parent's movement – the prevention of the hunting of wild Farfetch'd for flavour – and he did so with guerrilla tactics rather than brute force; theft, sabotage and, on more than a few occasions, murder. His activism later extended to releasing Pokemon in unwilling captivity and hunting for information on exactly who had ordered Featherheart Tower to burn down. While his righteous anger has faded and he now lives the simpler life of a wanderer, he still ponders the latter to this day. OTHER: "Watch the skies. Be careful out there." While heavily scarred from various battles over the years, her downy feathers cover them. Belle's beak has a large scorch mark on it along with several scratches from the assault on her aviary when she was younger. Belle tends not to wear armour, save for the slip of dark leather around her neck etched with the same symbols that adorn Seth's bow. A similar strap runs around her midsection with places for a passenger to hold on while in flight. Seth never uses them. PERSONALITY: Scarily intuitive, Belle has an intricate grasp on Seth's emotions (though it isn't hard – he's usually an open book) but more importantly she has a real need to mother him, having never had children of her own to raise. The Pidgeot also tends to be more trusting than her master is; however, she is loyal to Seth until the end. Her most distinguishing feature in this form is the skull mask – not that of her own species but instead a Tauros – is split in half, just as the one she wears in her regular human form is. While her fur is only a few shades darker than usual, it is enough to set her apart as 'not normal' and make her easily recognisable as a morph; however, it is marred with scars and bites from various battles and in different stages of healing. If she is forced into this form as a last-ditch attempt to save her own life, her typically aggressive, cautious fighting style flies out the window and is replaced with a jumpy, defensive one in which she will use all of her available abilities to escape rather than continue her hunt. In general, however, she tries to keep her status as a morph hidden. --- HUMAN APPEARANCE: Ell herself stands at roughly 6'0", though it is difficult to tell through the tribal decorations she wears that add to her already impressive height. She walks with an impeccable posture, one of a noblewoman, and it is only when she is stalking her prey or purposefully trying to hide that it is broken – she seems proud of it, somehow. With dark, tan skin, she is easily associated with the warmest, sunniest regions of Ayero and is definitely someone who has spent most of her life working outdoors from the callouses on her hands. Her tattoos, drawn in black ink that has faded to brown over time, are of random, swirling runes and one which particularly resembles the sigil of an ancient, noble house. As a whole, her outfit is designed to blend in with the vibrant colours of the forest with protective leathers stained green and beige and beads of many colours tied up in her hair. Her gold jewellery is the real deal and obviously expensive, but it is often seen with a liberal coating of dirt and mud as is every other part of her body. Adorned to her belt are the bones of various creatures, mostly Morphs but other impressive kills, too, like a feather from each of the legendary birds owned by enemy noble houses. It gives normal Pokemon even more of an excuse to avoid and distrust her PERSONALITY: Ell prides her cunning more than anything, born out of her own self-interest in staying alive – she devoutly follows her personal code of do not trust and lie, lie, lie as a result, and has become quite skilled at it. Unsurprisingly, she is prone to bouts of loneliness as letting nobody get near her for long periods of time (though they would have no reason to, given her appearance) does very little to stave off the need for normal human interaction; however, she is tough and rarely, if ever, complains. Still, surviving in the most treacherous environments is impossible without asking for some help. Ell can be very charismatic and is a good, clear speaker, justifying anything and everything even if she does not believe in it, like her current lifestyle. It has some crossover with her own flaw of deluding herself into thinking that Morphs deserve to be tried under the law despite being one herself. BIOGRAPHY: Ellory was born to the noble house Knotheart, once respected but now considered a disgrace with an illegitimate child ruling as heir over his shrinking territory. Ell was the official heir, at one point; however, customs dictated that she - as a female and a morph (a well-kept secret by her common mother) could not take over after her father's death. Rather than sit around as a damsel in distress, Ell left to forge her own path out in the wilds, becoming a jack of all trades when it came to exploring, fighting and, naturally, hunting. Despite being a Morph herself, she spent quite a few years chasing down the more troublesome ones for the small villages that could do little about them. Staying away from the large cities (where she would almost certainly be caught), she acquired quite a reputation for completing any job she was given. Only three years ago, a hunt went sour as she came face to face with a ghost Morph, a Haunter in a graveyard, and was confronted by a whole host of fearsome psychic attacks. Ell's life was saved by a young Cubone, only recently orphaned (from what she could tell). While it was her first failed job, she arguably got something more precious out of it; a travelling companion to protect as if it were her own. She thinks she's going native. GENDER: Male APPEARANCE: A tiny, young creature with the bone mask of a marowak's skull – his mother. Despite being frail and weak (in the process of becoming stronger), he carries a bone with him to attack enemies with, not that it would do much good. His bone mask is painted with the symbol of House Knotheart in blood. PERSONALITY: Cubone is gentle, with a kind nature predisposed to helping others and giving gifts dug up from the earth to his replacement 'mother', Ell. He is often sad and melancholic, crying for no apparent reason at the strangest of times. He is also naïve, though he knows not to trust anyone that Ell does not. MOVESET: Dig ??? ??? ???
