Admittedly, it had felt good to get some of her frustrations out. And Katniss didn't pity Blaze so much for being the target of her aggression. If anything, he should be thanking her that she had held back. She could have done much worse to that creep but she didn't because there were too many people around expecting too much from someone who thought everything was pointless about the evening. It's only saving grace was that she got to see Haymitch and Gale dressed up. As they headed out, Haymitch made a comment that didn't get her much reassurance that the creeps would cease to flutter around her. She knew there might be more like him but it certainly wasn't comforting. But then again, she didn't really need a comforting lie nor had she been expecting one. Katniss could in truth, consider herself lucky that the whole evening hadn't been filled with jerks like Blaze trying to get close to her because if that had been how the night had gone, she was sure she would have caused as much of a ruckus as Johanna had done. Upon arriving at the elevator, she glanced to Haymitch quizzically, as he said it had been kind of funny. Yeah maybe to him but it was weird as fuck for her. Clearly the attention wasn't welcomed and just made her want to vomit or throw Blaze across the room. Since neither of those things happened, she supposed the night could still be considered somewhat successful even if its ending wasn't as enjoyable as the beginning had been. When the elevator glided down and arrived for them, he also added another comment which caused her to frowned a little, at first unable to follow what he had meant by that. It was funny among other things? Like what? She had to think about what had happened and after reminding herself, she had an idea of what he had meant by that. It was possible that maybe her own actions had caught Haymitch's eye in a manner far different than just amusement. Which in turn, amused her. Of course it was likely that Katniss could be wrong in her assumption since her experience was abysmally, but understandably, lacking. "Really?" She commented as they stepped onto the elevator and were taken up toward their correct floor. "What else?" Katniss asked, placing a hand on her hip as she realized they were actually alone. There weren't any stupid guys lurking around, drunks or spies working under the command of President Snow. So now both of them were alone and Katniss finally felt like she'd be able to relax and put the Ball behind her. It was done and over with but a part of her wished it didn't have to end too abruptly. If it was over, it just brought everyone closer to the carnage waiting for them. Even though the Ball was ridiculous, it still stopped time from slipping way and if time could just slow down, then there was more time to live rather than escape death. Whatever Jenella and Blaze had to say didn't really matter, not anymore. The only person she needed to listen to was Haymitch. When the doors opened to let them out, she smirked a little and stepped out and turned back to Haymitch. "I could guess..." She hummed, mind slipping back to the present. “Or you could give me a hint.” It was good that the two of them were able to miss things about the Capitol, not just the tranquility around them. They had training which kept them busy and focused and they also had the plan thanks to Peeta and everyone else. But still, Gale was thankful that they could take some time to reflect on what they would miss when things did change. For him, it helped keep things rooted. While he wasn't a fan of the Capitol or its residents or even its blissful ignorance of the world around them, Gale could admit that some of their perks would be sorely missed. It was small things such as the food and comforts. But then again, wherever he and Prim wound up, he was sure he wouldn't ever have to complain about the company. Her's was always welcomed. He finished his tart in his second bite and was sure to dust off any of the buttery crumbs off of him. Even though they had been granted more privacy and no one was paying them mind, he still wanted to look good. "Oh?" He looked to Prim. He wasn't doubting her capabilities of cooking and baking. She had made some great strides after they had moved into the Victor's Village. Gale was a bit jealous of the kitchen and all the goods and tools that came with it. Of course that all came at a big price, one they'd never stop paying for. It cost Katniss her mental stability among other things. Gale sometimes felt bad for being so envious of the Everdeen family when he knew how much torment the women had to endure and he hoped he could help keep Prim sane when everything blew up in their faces. Plan or no plan, he didn't want Katniss to turn into Haymitch, nor did he want Prim to turn into Katniss. All of them deserved to be happy and to come out with as little damage as possible. Of course that was a very unrealistic mindset to have, even for Gale. He smiled at Prim and nodded. "I mean, I'm sure you could. I could even try to help." He offered her. The idea that they could be back in the 12'th District was a bit out of reach and fuzzy to even imagine but he knew they all had loved ones waiting for them to come back, wishing for the impossible. "I know I'm a bit clumsy in the kitchen but I'm sure you'd be able to help me...help you...which I guess defeats the purpose of me trying to help." Now he was rambling, something that wasn't like him at all. Prim made him act strange and feel strange but he wasn't complaining. Not at all. "Actually never mind, I'll just stay out of your way." He laughed and rubbed his neck slightly. The air was warm but not suffocating in the least. His smile dropped a little as he felt a delicate, nagging tug at his heart and he figured he could try and get serious for a moment. "You know Prim," He started to say. "I do see us...together..when this is all over." It was a big thing to admit and he hoped she felt the same way about their future. Discussing it wasn't easy, not with so much on the line, along with the uncertainty of escape and living a full life. "I mean..." He dropped his hand to rest in his lap now. "You know just us...together." He tried to be more specific. He cared about her mother and sister of course. and his own family but he just saw Prim and himself in a house, on their own, quite happy.
