The head servant, the one in charge of all the new servant was in a tizzy. Her dress was bunched up in one hand so she wouldn't trip over it, in the other was a rolling pin. She was searching for one of the new servants who hadn't shown up to get his orders for the day. That new servant was Kale Arnon, most definitely the troublemaker of the group. His skills as a thief and his strong willed personality just weren't a good mix. Especially when, due to his role as a servant, he had free reign of the castle. Well, almost the whole castle, there were a few areas that servants weren't permitted to go. But that just meant that he would need to use a little caution and stealth. Currently Kale was sitting high above the head servant, biting his tongue to stop himself from laughing. His long legs hooked onto one of the many criss crossing beams keeping the castle roof stable. He wasn't worried about falling in the slightest, he never fell. There was an apple sitting next to him on the beam, a beautiful, red, perfectly ripe apple straight from the king's own table. The first, and currently greatest, thing he's stolen from castle. He may have been here to 'make amends' for what he had done. But that only mattered if one actually cared. With a frustrated huff, the head servant moved on the next area of the castle, determined to find a boy who was even more determined not to be found. Besides, nobody ever looked up. With a grin, Kale picked up the apple and took a bite. He was quickly disappointed to find that an apple from the king's table tasted the same as an apple that you would get at a common market. But he consumed it anyway, it was an apple after all, his second favorite food after bread. Once he finished the apple, he brushed some of his thick, dirty blonde, hair out of his face. He made a mental note to steal a hair tie from one of the female servants. Apparently that wasn't something they gave to male servants, but they supposedly weren't needed. Kale waited a minute longer before leaning down and dropping the apple core into one of the decorative vases lining this hallway. He'd take care of it later, maybe. He unhooked his legs from the beam and got them planted on the top. With cat-like grace and acrobatics he leaped from one beam to the next, until he hit the wall that signaled the beginning of the next hallway. That's when he finally climbed down, hooking his hands onto the door when he got low enough and dropped down. Only to come face to face with a very angry head servant. "What do you think you're doing?" "I was exploring the castle." Kale said in a tone that obviously didn't please the head servant. "I didn't get the chance to when my group was given the tour, on account of getting these taken care of." He said, motioning to the still healing bruises on his face and torso. He had been beating after being caught as a thief, and was lucky to still have both of his hands. He was instantly grabbed and dragged off to the servant's quarters, the head servant was definitely not pitying him. She ended up giving him a nearly half hour long lecture on the duty of servants and how it was more of a joy than it seemed. Which Kale practically started tuning out before it happened. After the lecture Kale was finally given a job to do, and as punishment for being himself, was ordered to go scrub laundry until his hands were raw and his arms ached. At least the company was nice, the girl he was with was very pretty and new to the castle like he was. She was such a sweetie that she unintentionally triggered Kale's protective nature. He didn't want to see her soft, obviously not used to working hands, get ruined by the scrubbing. So he offered to do all the scrubbing while she folded and put it away. The way her face lit up was totally worth the pain. It took a while but eventually Kale was finished with the scrubbing. He hadn't seen her in a while, but then again she had a lot of baskets to take care of. He ended up folding the last basket worth of stuff and carrying it off himself. He could have just left it, but didn't want anybody else getting in trouble for his behavior. He carried the basket easily through the halls, his bare feet not making a single sound on the wooden floor, to where he had seen the correct room earlier. Only to stop before a rounding a corner because of what he heard on the other side. Silently he set down the basket, and took a peek. He wasn't sure what he should think about it. It was pretty obvious what was going on, one of the princes was getting frisky with the servant girl who had been helping him with the laundry. His protective nature surged up again, not wanting the girl to be forced into anything she didn't want to do. So without even hesitating, he stepped around the corner. "What's the matter princey? Concubines to much for your royal prick?" He said, an equal mix of courage and taunting in his tone.
