He also lacks muscle bulk, but is highly tone with what he has. Shin also wears the traditional armor worn by those who served under Sai, which resembles Traditional Japanese Samurai armor. His right arm lacks any armor as it instead is a grey, alien appendage that appears to be a discolored exoskeleton, although it functions completely as an armor and is has a matte texture. Shin has long, red hair that is a darker shade than his reddened armor. Each shoulder plate of his armor displays a different symbol: the right shows the Uzumaki symbol while the left displays the Uchiha symbol, and on his back, covered by his hair, is a large U shaped piece of metal. His left eye is also alien in that it is a constant Sharingan with three full tomoe, but lacks any scar. Shin has two weapon pouches and several scrolls on his thigh plates, but most notably adorns the Samehada on his back. Shin has a very complex and unique appearance, as most people are often thrown off by his eyes alone. One gentle, blue eye that appears to have the depth of a serene ocean across from a blazing-red Uchiha iris. History Shin speaks very little of his history before the resistance, but much of it is known. Shin was, for a very long time, considered the second strongest shinobi alive. He served Sai, his uncle, and was trained by his father, Sai's brother, from birth. Shin spent his entire life being honed as a shinobi by some of the strongest men in the world, and became a Jounin at the age most graduated the academy. He fought and served alongside the Regime of Sai before Sai even took it over, more serving his father and grandfather than Sai. Shin has stated that he saw Sai strike down his father and grandfather, and even surrendered his allegiance too Sai when Sai activated his arm, as it had a similar mechanism to the Cursed Seals. Shin has told others that his arm is a replacement grown by Sai after he lost his arm in Kirigakure. The history known of Shin is mostly told by Shin, and he has claimed that most of his power comes from a single day. What he means is that on the day Sai took over, Shin took the scraps. He took the Samehada from Sai's lover, the eye of his grandfather, the seals of their best friend and left behind the will of his father. Shin claimed that it was on that day, that he saw how his family was willing to cut down Sai and his lover, that he knew he could not serve them, but also that Sai was a broken man after he took the heart of who he loved. In that sense, Shin claims that he joined the resistance before it was even made. Roughly a year before the war, it was revealed that Shin was a double-agent working alongside Hitori Uzumaki, Hosuka Uzumaki, Kirugetsu Hozuki and several others that were leading the resistance. Shin had been feeding them information, allowing them to reclaim their villages and giving them knowledge about the specific strengths and weaknesses of each part of Sai. It was also Shin who deactivated the fortress that Sai turned Amegakure into, and disarmed the traps he set. Shin worked as an inside agent until the last moment, then allowed Sai to die even though Shin took no actual part in the battle. Since then, Shin joined Konohagakure, claiming that wherever Hitori would have been, Shin would follow in spirit. Shin has since faced an incredible amount of skepticism with only the highest ranks of Konoha truly trusting him. Personality Shin lived a twisted life, made into a weapon since birth, and parts of that still show. He is cold and calculating with all of the intelligence of his familial line. Shin, however, has proven time after time to have a heart and to value things like love and family, to the extent he was depressed and completely torn asunder upon seeing his family ripped apart because they forced his uncle to choose between his family and his love, then seeing everyone die due to it. Shin believes no one should have to choose between a life of servitude to their country and cause and a life of love and family. For that, Shin often pressures the older shinobi to retire, telling anyone getting 'rusty' that they should let a new generation take over. Unfortunately, he is well aware that Konoha needs its full militant force. For those he does not wish to retire, Shin pushes them to grow and become powerful. Unlike those before him, who trained him to be a shinobi without passion, Shin believes that true power comes from passion and he believes that he never truly lived until he fought for a cause: liberation. Nature Release Wind Important Items Samehada, sealing scrolls (the scrolls contain a formula that places a seal onto the ground and allows Shin to use time-space jutsu within the field, which is roughly 25 meters) Combat Style: Shin is skilled in essentially all ranges of combat. Since birth, Shin was raised to be a ninjutsu-wielding sensor, and became a Jounin using high-ranking Wind Release. Shin was also skilled with taijutsu, but to a far lesser degree. Shin never picked up genjutsu, although he does have a small arsenal of such, and he is in no way a medic-nin. However, Shin was given a large boost to his taijutsu with his arm, which is covered in a steel-hard exoskeleton derived from the jutsu of Sai's familial line. His arm is stronger and faster than his own top speed, and he uses the nature chakra of his arm to tame the Samehada. Thus, with his strength and the tamed Samehada, Shin is highly skilled in close range combat as well as mid and long range combat due to his Wind Release. With his Uzumaki heritage, Sai is also relatively hard to kill and has stronger chakra than a regular shinobi. He also bares the Sharigan, but truly only makes use of its passive effects of movement and chakra reading, which makes his sensory skills even more accurate. Lastly, Shin is skilled with fuinjutsu, being one of the only known time-space users in the world. The summation of his strength led most to believe he was the second strongest and possibly now is the strongest shinobi alive.
Note: Shin is an NPC, so I'm not making a full jutsu list for him. To anyone wondering why he has so many 'skills', most of them represent one of the original founders of the Sai Regime. His arm represents Sai, his time-space abilities represents their best friend and his eye represents his grandfather. Lastly, his prowess with ninjutsu is a trait shared with his father.
