Liam hooked a Totodile. He battled it with Vaporeon. Liam's Pokemon managed to get lucky with an Ice Beam, allowing Totodile to be captured. Liam continued to fish. Liam had a big snag. When he got it ashore, it was a huge Sharpedo. Liam judged that it was maybe 1.25 times the size of a normal Sharpedo.

Liam called on one of his non water types on him, Sylveon. With a combined use of Attract and Moonblast, Sharpedo was weakened enough to be caught in a Dive Ball. Liam had enough time to run to the center and get back before the boat's arrival and did so.
