Technically speaking I'on is a battlemage. However, his close-combat skills are more or less supplementary in nature, for while he [I]could[/I] hold his own with just his staff and no magic, he falls far short of someone specialized/highly skilled in the same area.

So yeah he's a full mage with supplementary close combat skills haha :P
