What would you classify a nightmare as, because that is what he basically is, a collection of fears and nightmares. He was never alive so he can't be dead, alive, or anything between the two. He just is what he is, as he has always been.
Is he a standalone real manifestation of nightmare, or does he use his victims' minds to assume shape? (sort of like how the Sorting Hat in Harry Potter works). In the first case, if he were inside Wulfric, upon inspecting himself Wulfric would identify two beings. In the second, only one. Ah, forgot to mention. Wulfric is an alchemical vampire. He is not undead, but fully alive. Has a heartbeat, requires normal food (not only dying emotions), can drown/choke, can have children, etc. And, since he is fangless, he can't bite humans into vampiredom.
