Family counts as familiar energy signatures. You can interpret the energy sense manifesting as an extension of any of your other senses, sight would be the easiest I admit.

Floating is basically flight but without the agility or speed commonly associated with flight: Markus moves with a running speed when floating. Inertia is a physical effect (obviously :ou), so it won't affect his floating.

And yes, you can choose any part of yourself to be either ethereal or corporeal: squeezing somebody's heart is entirely possible. This also applies to your weaponry: Markus can shred a human's innards without touching their skin.
