"Thank you for the kind offer, Ultra-dimension. But the lethal nature of the sword helps me keep the mindset needed to wield it properly. To change that could have dangerous consequences." Guls barely let the rocket phase him and instead focused his attention on all the fighters who had gathered so far. Ultra-Dimension might make a good apprentice, and though at the moment the Green Swordsman doubted he had the physical ability to learn the Great Sage School's techniques his heart was in the right place and what he had managed to achieve with technology was impressive by itself. The other fighters here also seemed like they might hold interesting potential apprentices or disciples, though only time and the tournament would tell for sure. The young Namekian with a certain heaviness to the feel of his heart bore looking into, at least regarding his newness on Earth and Guls' own moral responsibilities as his elder if not as someone to pass teachings onto. The foreboding feelings Guls had gotten as of late weighed heavily on him, and the feeling of needing to prepare a new generation to join him in his mission pressed on his thoughts more each day, it seemed. Regardless he was getting distracted in his own thoughts and observing and fighting in the tournament should be his primary goal. "I apologize for my own distraction. I was lost in contemplation of the battles to come. Needless to say though, I'll be keeping my eye on promising young warriors like yourself." Guls didn't seem to notice the champ too much as he spoke up to the rest, although he made a mental note to watch his fight to see whether he was the genuine article. As the announcer burst in and gave a rundown of the rules and situation, Guls drew himself further back into his veiled cloak and waited for things to commence as he noted the rules. ---- As the roar of the crowd intensified from inside the fighters' rest area, Guls sat against a corner of the wall with his legs crossed in a meditative pose, positioned so he could observe both the screen and his fellow fighters. Neither the fights nor the Dragonballs themselves were Guls' objective after all. But this time would likely be the best chance he got to observe the potential candidates to become disciples of the Great Sage school of martial arts. His interactions with them now in a high pressure situation, their reactions to the battles and their own fights would tell him more than the idle chitchat had earlier. Other than that, he needed to focus on garnering attention with his own fights. The others were unlikely to join him unless he did well for himself, after all.
