So essentially the only things mandatory are that we determine who wins beforehand, and post-by-post fights are just fine, which is in fact my preference. My personal thought on Gecko's method is that scripting your fighter's moves out in advance without seeing what the other player is intending to do with their character or how they would react to your moves doesn't make sense, but I might be misunderstanding what he meant.
If we were actually fighting, I would totally agree with you. I love roleplaying fights where predicting the enemy's moves, intelligent action, and capitalizing on every vulnerability are used. I can reference you to some of the fights I've done. I used to roleplay solely for those fights. That's not actually in this thread. The winner is chosen before hand. When we try and do normal roleplaying fights leading into a predetermined win, 50% of the time we're going to end up with the dude who's supposed to win, completely stunned, with a giant ki attack aimed down his throat, or some other situation where it's completely improbable for him to win, and then we're going to have to say, "Er... Then he summons his reserves of strength, and superstrong attacks and wins." And it will be completely lame. To clarify my version more, I'll post what I have planned for our fight after some touch ups.
Yeah, um... Remember that part where I said I don't like collabs and won't be doing them? ^^; Because I don't like collabs and won't be doing them.
Remember that part where I said "they can make their own pitch."? And I enjoy writing fights for the joy of it, so I'm still going to write ours if I come up with a cool idea. And I did. So I will.
