Okay, asking dibs for an Alchemist! Or wait, maybe not cause there is no limit for them. Yay! --- Name: Violet Jurfang Appearance: Clicky here! Age: 20 Origin: Kassingo Class: Alchemist Skills: Extremely good at cooking, mixing concoctions, and things related to putting things together to make them taste good or have a beneficial (harmful?) effect. She's been cooking since she was young, given that her family makes a living out of that. Given her great interest in things like that, she also started learning how to mix different potions an things of the like. With time, she became something like an apothecary that gave potions to the sick for free, so one could say she is quite popular. Can identify animals, herbs and things of the like just by looking at them once and probably also knows their effects. Also, a quick reader. She is an avid reader, though most of the books she reads are related to cooking or to different ingredients she could use when cooking or making potions. Also, knows how to apply first aid. She is also quite skilled at fire and water magic. Not the kind that makes big fireballs to scorch your enemy, but rather the type that helps her cook something with it. She learnt magic in order to improve more at cooking. Her water magic also helps when she has to rinse something or needs water for anything else. She was taught magic by her mother. (Barely) Knows how to swing a sword around and also knows how to put an arrow in the string of a bow, shooting, though... Can also sew clothes and stuffed animals out of any material at hand. His father taught her how to swing a sword in order for her to defend herself even though she isn't really good at it, she at least knwo how to keep someone away with the sword. The bow is more of a problem because she needs her glasses to see where she needs to shoot the arrow, and she sometimes make them fall while putting the arrow on the string. In the end, rather she learned how to make handicrafts like clothes. Connections: Waiting! Sample:
I take the dust off me with my hand, I want to at least look presentable. I take a deep breath and start on with my introduction. "H-Hello, my name is Violet Jurfang. I am a 20 year old girl who lives in a small town in Kassingo near a dormant volcano. I-I stand at 1.68 m and my weight is... a-a s-secret, to be honest!" I am a bit embarrassed to say that, but I think I need to follow up or my introduction won't be complete. "B-But seemingly, I look thin with my clothes on... " I fidget around a bit before taking another deep breath to continue with my introduction. "People often tell me I am a bit shy and that I don't talk too much, but that's just because I rarely feel comfortable around others. I-It takes some time for me to get used to someone who is around me, and I don't want to be rude to them or anything, so I take my time opening up to others, but I am really friendly t-though!" That last bit came out a bit forced, so I clear my throat before continuing on with my introduction. "I-It's not like I've got no friends though! I've met quite a few people around my neighborhood, but they all say I talk a bit too much after I get used to them. I don't really know if that's true or not." "I-I like to think I get along well with people, though I am shy at first. Still.... I can't stand seeing others in distress and even though the better I can do about it is giving them a warm meal and somewhere to stay if needed be, I like to think that I can help people like that." I play with my hair a bit as I say that. I thought my voice was going to fail on me there. "A-Anyhow, my favorite thing to do is cooking. I've liked it ever since I was young and I am very passionate about it. My mom taught me how to do it, my family runs a restaurant after all so I also need to know how to cook so that I can inherit it one day. Even so, neither of my parents could have guessed I would like it so much, though when I am helping out they always tell me not to experiment with things, since it sometimes ends in a huge failure. I think what I like the most about cooking is the happy face of people when they eat what I made." I guess I still feel a bit nervous, even though I've been talking for a while now. Well, I bet I'll get used to it in no time... I hope. "Since I was young, my father has always kept me around the restaurant helping out. He said I was a huge attraction for costumers, so they often poked my cheeks and carried me around as a baby. Though, when I grew up and they weren't able to do that anymore, they started doing other.... things, to call it something. I think that's where my shyness started, since I felt really uncomfortable about it." Though I really want to call it sexual harassment, but I'll just hold it back. "So, my father got really mad and made a big fuss about it. Nobody touched me again after that, but even so, since my dad wasn't completely confident that they would keep their hand off me, he taught me how to hold a sword and a bow, and also told me to always hold onto one and, if needed be, that I should also use my magic to burn those guys. So, any outsider who came to visit suddenly found themselves being burned or almost having their hands cut off. All in all, I've lived a fairly normal life with my family in the little town we live in. "

It was a busy day in the restaurant. Plates were making sound as they were being transported. Violet was barely managing to carry some plates to the kitchen. "U-Uwah!" In a sudden movement, she was abotu to drop the plates, but an old man stopped them before they could break. "Young lady, I am surprised you haven't broken any plates yet." The friendly old man says in a teasing tone and laughing a bit. Violet sinks her gaze and starts fidgeting. The old man raises an eyebrow while he hands the plates back to the girl. "T-Thanks...." An awkward mood hangs over the two, and Violet is unsure of whether she should try and make some conversation or something. In the end, she decides it is best to keep it like that and turns around to go to the kitchen, given that the old man didn't say anything. "I-If you'll excuse me...." She walks away in quite a hurry, leaving the old man behind her quite dumbfounded. Still, she laughs and shouts at her. "After you are done with that, come share a meal with an old man, won't ya?" Violet turns around, a bit surprised and pondering about it. In the end, she nods with a smile on her face. Violet enters the kitchen to deliver the plates back to her mom and the other chefs. Her mother, who resembles her quite a bit, is expertly cooking something with fire magic. The bespectacled girl leaves the dirty dishes in the sink and her dad, a towering man sporting a beard and a sturdy build, thanks her with a nod. Violet quickly takes her apron off. "I'll be taking my break now, mom, dad." "Oh, that's odd now. Did someone in the restaurant catch your eye, Violet? Is it finally time to let you fly away from us?" Her mother says, all while smiling and giggling at the prospect of it. Violet's dad tightens his grasp on the plate he is cleaning and speeds up his pace of cleaning. He seems really irritated. "N-no, no! A gentle old man told me if I could talk some time with him, so I'm just going to hear him out for a bit." She says, trying to dismiss her mother's wild assumptions, and then, her father finally snaps. "An... old man? Is that what you are into, Violet!? I will not permit it! I'm going to go have a bit of a chat with him!!" The man throws away the plate he was so busy cleaning without much thought and, obviously, it would have broken apart weren't it for Violet's mother's timely interference. "W-Wait, dad, what are you into? Geez, calm down a bit! I don't like old men! I'm just going to talk with him for a bit!" Violet turns around, a bit mad at her dad for being so overprotective. "Come back here, Violet! I'm not done with-!" His sentence is interrupted and he lets out a girly cry, something that doesn't seem possible given his build and imposing aura. "You come back here, dear... What do you think you are doing, throwing the plates like that? Will you pay back for them, huh!?" "I-I'm sorry, I really am, just, spare me!" "Never..." Violet leaves her parents and their fight while she hears another girly cry from the kitchen. She approaches the table of the old man fast enough and takes a seat a bit hesitantly in front of him. "Oh! You did come! It makes this old geezer happy! It's been ages since I've been able to speak with such a cute young woman!" He says and lets otu a hearty laugh. Violet is a bit surprised and shrinks back on her seat. "Y-yeah..." She says, in a voice as low that it could be confused by a whisper. The old man stops his laughing and looks at her, a bit confounded. Still, he breaks into another smile soon enough. "Anyhow, the name's Bullock, what's yours, little lady?" He says, trying to sound as friendly as possible. "I-I am Violet... It's a pleasure to meet you, mister Bullock." She answers and Bullock seems a bit more happy to hear her talk, finally, after trying to avoid it so much. "That's all right, you don't have to call me 'mister', I feel older than I actually am." He laughs a bit more and Violet can't help but wonder what the old man finds so funny. "Tell me more about you, Violet. I am sure a cute girl like you has seen all kinds of things, even in this little town, right?" "N-No, that's quite all right, mister. I-I prefer calling you that, it's a bit more formal and I don't feel as nervous..." She lets out the last bit of her sentence like a whisper. Violet shakes her head furiously, exaggerating a bit. 'N-No, I can't be this nervous with a gentle old man like this. I need to get it together!' She thinks. The bespectacled girl looks at the old man, more resolved than before. "I-I'm not that cute, it's just that there aren't that much girls in town, that's all." Violet blushes furiously at the old man's comment, but doesn't look away from him. "A-and, well, life here isn't as exciting as you would think. Our restaurant is the center where everyone comes to gossip and whatnot, though. I-I also have a few friends around here so life isn't boring. My mom also taught me how to cast magic and dad has told me to go study in Kassingo's academy, but, well, that's not really my best subject, nor the one I like the most, so... I think I'd rather just stay here and inherit the restaurant from mom and dad." "Oh? I always thought young lads were interested in doing pretty tricks with magic. I'm impressed to see you are not interested in that." Bullock asks. "Well, I merely use magic for its practical uses, so I only use it to cook and whatnot. I've never been really interested in making big fireballs or water whips to smash someone with." "Geh... You can be quite saidistic, huh, little lady? I meant things like doing light tricks or fireworks with magic." "Oh... Oh! I-I'm so sorry! It's just... that was the first thing that came to mind. I'm sorry!" Violet's face has turned red yet again. The old man lets out a snicker. "Well, a pretty girl should know how to protect herself, after all. Dun' worry about it, lass. Go on, what else have you done here in this little town? Anything, thrilling? Exciting? An adventure worth a good tale?" "Not... really." Violet searches through her memory, trying to find something of the like. "Hm, that's too bad." The old man seems a bit disheartened, and Violet feels guilty. "W-Well, there was one time... It is not ground shaking or an adventure worth telling, but there was one time a man arrived to our town. He was injured after a fight with something. I helped him and gave him a place to stay. He was happy that I was helping him with all my might, and I treated his wounds. Still, whatever he fought was poisonous, and his wound was getting worse by the minute, no matter what I applied on him. I was getting more and more frustrated, more because he wouldn't tell me what had injured him. Until the peril of death was imminent, I finally got him to spit out the name of the animal, or at least what it looked like. It was an snake, a big one at that, it had little dots all over its body and was yellow. I did some reasearch and finally found something I could use to make an antidote for him. It wasn't easy to get, though, but my father helped me get the herb I needed. I prepared the antidote for him and soon enough, he was back on his feet. He left a few days after that. Later after that, more and more people started coming to the restaurant in search for a remedy. You could say I run an apothecary of sorts here along with the restaurant." She explains and, until now, she notices that she has been speaking non stop since she started. "S-sorry, I just got carried away." The old man, smiling at her, laughed a bit. "Oh, it's no problem. It was a good story. I hope you don't mind me exaggerating it a bit and letting the whole wrld know about it!" He lets out another hearty laugh. Violet furiously refuses with her hands. "N-n-n-no! Please, don't do that! I-I don't think it is that praiseworthy... Anyone else would have done the same." The man gets up without saying anything. "M-Mister?" "Don't understimate yourself, lass. What you did was a courageous act, not everyone would have done it, even less for an stranger. Be more proud of yourself and puff that chest out. Maybe, more people will notice it then!" The old man laughs and Violet blushes yet again, but this time, she is more angry than before. She covers her chest with both of her arms. "W-W-what do you care!?" She shouts out, but the next moment she looks back at the old man Bullock, he is no longer there. "H-Huh? Where did he go?" "Violet! Your break is over!" She hears her mother call her from the kitchen. "Y-Yes! C-coming!" She stands up and hurries to the kitchen, not before turning back and wondering about the old man yet again. "Mister... Well, thanks, anyway... You were rather rude in the end, though."
--- Um, I think I'll add more to her after seeing what others have and getting some more context on how things are done around this world. :P
