The magic is in the character, however it can only be used effectively when a weapon is in their hands.

- A person's ability with magic is determined by the affinity they have with certain spells and their weapon
- Weapon affinity is determined by how long a person has been using a specific weapon. Weapons of the same type do not count.
- Picking up a different weapon will still allow you to use magic, but in return, your effectiveness with whatever spell you have in mind is cut into 1/7 of its original effectiveness.
