There were plenty of things to get upset about while at the Academy; being dropped from a class, being dumped by a crush; losing your books, these were all things that could make your time her right miserable. Doing poorly on a placement test was not one of those things however, and getting worried over it was just unnecessary. Aldis had to dismiss the pink-haired girl's fit over her scores for that very reason, he couldn't see why anyone would be so concerned. It probably helped his own case that he had done fairly well on the test itself. Noticing a finger being shoved in his face he turned to look at Fern confused, smiling in spite of being glowered at. "Me...? Oh I suppose I did pretty well," Aldis replied, glancing back over at the board as he scratched his head, "Looks like I'm number 8 in the class. Kind of surprising since I'm pretty sure I fell asleep partway through it." If he recalled right the information on the exam had been rudimentary at best, meaning anyone with a basic understanding of alchemy should do fine on it. Shrugging his shoulders he looked to Fern furiously, folding his hands into his pant pockets. "Maybe you just didn't study hard enough? Should put in more time if you want to do well!" That in of itself was about as simple as it got; studying and practicing was the only way any of them would learn the material. Even the top 10, himself included didn't know everything, they had to read and take notes like anyone else. Really now, why was Fern so angry with him? He was trying to help by telling her it was nothing to worry about and instead she was mad at him for so much as speaking. Certainly a fiery girl, he'd have to be careful not to say the wrong thing, lest he get knocked around a bit for it. Feeling another set of eyes trained on him Aldis ventured a guess at who was watching and found an Ishvalan boy looking on at the scene at hand. What was he so curious about? Smiling politely in his direction Aldis walked right by Fern, ignoring the finger that had been in his face as he approached the other boy. "Hey there! How's it going?" he asked, grinning as he leaned over slightly an extended a hand, "Nice to meet ya! Name's Aldis, and what's the name of the guy staring at me?"
