Jaron frowned, wishing he could wipe the smirk off that damn cats face since the other must have found the threat amusing. He liked Everest much better as a cat than a human so far and he doubted that opinion would change for awhile. He didn't have the high hearing the other one did, so the fact that he was moving forward towards the stairs was worrisome. He prepared for the worst but when the small sobs met his ears finally, Jaron felt his stress leave him and relief flood since there was only one person it could be. He had been ready to sprint down the stairs to meet the other when Ezri appeared in the stair way. The next moment, his arms were full and he was hugging the smaller male to his chest, rubbing his back as he tried to comfort the other. The hiss caught his attention for only a split second, making him glare harshly since the last thing Ezri needed was what he thought was a stranger making such a noise or even finding out his cat was now a human. "Shhhh it's okay. I'm right here, your safe." Jaron whispered to the other, holding him close. "We need to leave now. It isn't good to stay here."
