@Agent B52 - There were a couple issues with the character- though most of these issues are my personal preferences. I personally am not a particularly large fan of 'Amnesia' backstories. While not always the case, I feel as though they are usually used as an excuse not to write a backstory. The spirit reminds me a lot of the Crisis nanosuit- and could easily be abused due to the spirits we will likely be facing this game. I'm also not a particular fan of characters being 'masters' or 'experts' at anything- it implies they have nothing, or very little left to improve upon, which I feel is just poor for character development. I didn't necessarily find Sofia a bad character, she just fell a bit short compared to some of the others.
