Chàrlie's pursed lips released a huffy sigh. Summer vacation was over, time for the new school year. She leaned casually against the wall in the hallway, one of her curls twisting around her finger continuously. Her brown eyes coolly regarded those before her, the newer students. Chàrlie wondered if any of them were potential friends. She was actually nervous for this new semester; all her friends had been older than her and now she would no longer have classes with them, since they were now in high school. And her best friend, Ana, had moved away over the summer to attend a school in Spain. Chàrlie felt lonely. Her attention was grabbed by the showy display of annoyance Sissy had with one of the newer boys. Brown eyes rolled as Sissy let out a mean remark to the poor boy. The drink that had spilled on her, Chàrlie thought internally, must've been an act of godly justice. At her little quip, she giggled quietly. Sissy would never change in attitude, it seemed. This would be Chàrlie's third year at Kadic, and possibly her last. Chàrlie supposed, looking around her, that she should at least try to make it an exciting one. She just didn't know where to start. Chàrlie nonchalantly stepped up in line, still a trail of newer and younger kids in front of her. It would be her turn soon enough to receive her schedule and new papers. Thankfully, she didn't have to worry about dorming, her grandmother lived fairly close to the school and was within walking distance. She wouldn't have to be anxious about possibly getting an obnoxious roommate.
