Connor looked over, flund himself smiling. "Well" he said, setting the last of his equipment down, "there is two ways we could do this" there was the subtle shift from geeky boy, to geeky professor. "We could use a chemical called Alum, which would serve both purpose and make life easier. But if you want it completely fire and water proof, then we should go with door number two" Still, he went through the process of using alum on a piece of paper, coating it three or for times, drying it quickky with, of all things, a hair dryer. "See, the alum protects the papeer from water" he poured a glass over water over the paper, then held it up, the water sliding right off, he shook it a few times, "and somewhat protects it against fire" he lit the paper. After a minute, he out the small blaze out, shoing the now brown paper, curling at the edges."Option two is trickier" and he proceeded to explain option two, which would, he hope, completely protect the paper without making it too hard to use. It would use a mixture of different chemicals, including Alum, borax, boric acid, and water. They could then either use it as a spray, and spray the papers, which would be pathcy at best, leqving small spaces that werent water or fire proof, or the better option would be to essentially paint the pages with it. He was pretty sure it would work, and his voice showed some excitement at this.He looked up once he had finished explaining, "which one would you like to use?" "I can barely fly without getting lost. My telekinesks is unreliable at best." Kalinda shrugged, "I will never be as powerful as you" she smiled, "I am glad there are no more classes today"
Kijani listened to Connor talk, a small smile on her face. Honestly, it was almost like night and day, the difference between him normally and him in this moment. He was in his comfort zone, she could tell, and it made a difference. It was actually nice to see him so comfortable. Once he was done explaining, she nodded. "Definitely the second option. I want to make this as strong as possible. Nothing worth doing was ever too easy." She grinned widely. "Tell me how I can help you." --- "Me too. I don't think I could take another class... I'm sure everyone's thinking I'm a freak among weirdos..." Devika shook her head, pushing her glasses up with her fingertip. "Maybe I made a mistake in coming here. I mean, if I can do that with just one forehead smack... who knows what I'm really capable of... How dangerous I could be to everyone."
