The jeweled necklace shimmered in the light of the flashlight as Shane examined it within the dark recesses of the shipping crate. Wow it was a beauty, the main gem itself was a vibrant deep blue sapphire with the accompanying diamonds running the length of the string. It would sell well...if it was real. Then again he could run it by Barns, the guy was the best fence he knew and Shane was certain Barns would get him a good price. He slid the necklace into his bag and looked at his watch...late. He shifted into his Rift form and went invisible gliding out of the shipping crate and towards the academy as fast as he could. All these jobs he'd been pulling was so he'd get admittance to that place. If he wanted to be a better thief (even though he was an expert already) he'd need the training they provided. But once again his greed had gotten the better of him and he was running late after a job he thought he'd get done within the hour. Arriving at the academy he realized he was late for orientation. _Nice.._, said to himself while still invisible _Yuh missed orientation, let's hope we ain't late for class...but first I wanna check out my new place_. Still invisible he flew through the halls sending chills down the spines of students he flew through. Arriving at an empty room he declared it his own and threw his bag onto the bed...if anyone knew what was good for them they won't go snooping in his stuff. Hovering in his room he looked around what he'd call home for the next few months...better than his last place that's for sure. He shifted back to normal and checked his bag to see if he had brought everything. Clothes? Check. Gear? Check. Riya? Riya...damn that name always brought back sad memories...enough of that he had the sword it was time to get to class.  Shifting back to Rift form he flew invisibly behind a group of students for a bit to figure out where he should go. They were probably freezing but oh well, from what they were saying it sounded like he'd be heading towards Physical Training. Good, for most of his career he'd relied on his Rift Form if he had to fight. Being able to hold his own in his human form would be a great benefit in the field. He ditched the now chilled to the bone students and dashed towards Physical Training class where he found others already gathered. _Great, late for class too_. He hovered over to the others and revealed himself still in rift form.
