Well, what you have going for your character is that he's good-natured so Lily Quarin (the principal) will like him. Maybe she sought him out for one reason or another (he saved an angel or was involved in a protest/charity or something like that). Also, you never specified what he hunts - if it's bad guys or animals it would mean he's trustworthy, as opposed to if he's hunting innocent or random humans and angels. So Lily probably invited him and Hazumi (my character and the Musicians' instructor/patron) openly dislikes him.
