Echo paused as she came to a junction in the hallway. She knew they needed to go left but the faint sounds of footsteps sounding from the left coming towards them made Echo hastily back away and flattened herself against the wall. She tightened her grip on her wrench, holding it tightly as she prepared to swing at anyone that came around the corner. However, a small voice drifted quietly down the hall towards her. Upon recognizing her name and the voice that had voiced it, Echo darted around the corner and scooped the small girl into her arms, hugging her tightly. “Autumn! Oh thank god you’re alright.” Echo placed the child back onto her feet and began running her hands over her, checking her for wounds. Autumn squirmed but allowed the examination, knowing Echo would feel better because of it. Aside from the bandages wrapped around her arms, legs, neck and on her face that hid the scars caused by the experiments from her past. Autumn was fine. Aiden had kept her from running into anybody that would cause her harm as well as alert her to when the monster was coming. Once Echo was assured that the girl was unhurt, she hugged her again, relief flowing through her. Once they parted, Autumn caught the sight of a boy standing behind Echo. The child shrunk back in fear, eyes wide. Echo caught sight of what Autumn was staring at and gave the girl a reassuring smile. “It’s alright. He won’t hurt you. He came in on the ship a few hours ago.” Autumn cautiously inched around Echo to get a better look at the boy. She blinked in disbelief. No….It couldn’t be…He was left behind when they escaped…It couldn’t be… “J-Jason?” Autumn questioned timidly, staring up at him.
