Imo, an rpg requires story that involves the player directly and has some form of player choice. A la Fallout (Dunno about all of them, only seen 3 and played New Vegas). I'm throwing the Dragon Age Series and the Mass Effect Trilogy in as decent, hours long RPGs with great stories as well. I played and beat...well, I've only beat the first Dragon Age and I still need to beat the third Mass Effect, but only because of a lack of sequels, Dragon Age, or a perfectly damaged disk that traps you at an opening mission, ME3.
