Asa grimaced; swinging his legs, and watching the clouds drift by from his perch on the edge of the cliff. He had strolled over there after watching everyone else dawdle round, talking, training, arguing, basically just loitering. Waiting probably, but Asa had no idea what for. He had been tempted to follow that boy, the one at the lockers, out of habit, like a dog. He had shaken off that notion, literally shaking himself, like a dog shaking off water, before wandering aimlessly and, coming to the edge of the cliff, he had sat down, relishing the feeling of not having someone telling him what to do every second of every day. That would probably change soon, but Asa was enjoying it while it lasted, even if he didn’t know what to do with himself. He suddenly found himself wondering about food, what it would be, if they got any. Wait… this was a school, of course they should be getting fed, right? Asa hoped so.
