Other Names: The Greyjoy, The Owl, Screecher, Devil. Age: 38. Occupation: Former Duelist, Dark Mage Hunter, currently works as an archivist. Appearance - Thirteen Years Ago (Age 25): Appearance - Today (Age 38): Appearance - Owl Form: Size: In owl form, Greyjoy is nearly 30 inches in length, with a 5-foot wingspan. In human form, Dominic stands at about 6 feet in height. Wardrobe Style: In both the Fairy Tale World and Earth, Dominic is notorious for his strange taste in clothing. He opts to wear a frock coat of varying colors, patterns and materials over a waistcoat and dress shirt (with similar odd coloring/patterns), trousers, and beat up black or brown leather shoes. During more formal occasions, however, Dominic opts to wear varieties of his normal outfits, but chooses to use items made of much better quality and color than his regular everyday clothes, as well as usually keeping a cravat in his collar. Accessory-wise, Dominic wears three wristwatches on his left wrist, a pocket-watch and chain in his waistcoat, and his Guardian amulet hidden under his shirt. Personality Traits: A truehearted, brave, and courageous man, Dominic displays many characteristics befitting a leader. Known for his staunch demeanor and indomitable will, Dominic shows extraordinary fearlessness in the face of battle or adversity, his own boldness usually enough to bolster those around him. Dominic exhibits an air of casual elegance and aristocratic beauty that seems to attract many people, this trait bolstered by his sharp mind and well-read eloquence. Despite coming from wealth, Dominic lacks the usual snobbish nature and pompous demeanor that comes with it, and regularly associates with those considered to be "lower-class" individuals, where he is notable for his welcoming, affable personality, and lack of prejudice. With these positive traits come flaws as well, however. Dominic, despite being a man of pure soul, is not always known for his right-minded thinking. He is notorious for his explosive temper when angered, a thrill-seeking recklessness and impulsiveness that lacks long-term thinking, occasional bouts of self-righteousness, and a notion of viciousness towards those he views with ill-will, even if such individuals earned his ire unjustifiably. Nevertheless, in the end, Dominic is a good man who seeks to do what is right, even if his viewpoint of right does not coincide with others. Magical Skills: Much like the Serpent King, Jafar, Dominic can feel the touch of magic, though requires a tool (in his case, a wand) to utilize that magic. Training as a duelist, Dominic wields his wand much like a fencer would wield a foil, and specializes in offensive use of his wand. To this end, he can disarm opponents, project bolts of damaging energy, alter the state, form, or appearance of an object, conjure a variety of items, cast a charm on most items/people (though not to the extent of more powerful sorcerers), and utilize curses and other more lethal spells, as well as granting the ability to deflect/redirect most offensive spells thrown at him (dependent on the individual strength of the enemy). However, Dominic is next to powerless without his wand, and as such keeps it with him constantly, almost never leaving it out of sight. When trapped in owl form, however, Greyjoy was gifted by the Sorcerer the ability to see in 360 degrees, as well as instill fear into all who hear his call, only those wielding strong-will able to resist. Other Skills: Receiving advanced education from a young age, Dominic is a well-learned individual with knowledge in a variety of subjects, ranging from advanced history and literature to basic first aid and animal care. A quick learner, Dominic would often spend time in his family's library reading up on old lore to further expand his intellect to a point where some would even call him an honorary scholar. Dominic was trained in the ways of the sword to help him wield his wand better, and as such exhibits various postures, stances, and movements that mimic that of a sword-master; making it very difficult to knock him down or break past his defenses. Branching off from this, Dominic is also a capable hand-to-hand combatant, using his wiry strength and surprise attacks to deal with opponents when magic is no longer an option. Dominic is an observant man, stemming from his martial training, and as such can quickly point out any flaws or notable details regarding both people and the environment around him. Dominic is a charismatic and eloquent man with a grammarian's vocabulary and a penchant for poetry. As such he can often be found reading or writing during his spare time, as well as holding great conversation with those who seek it. Lastly, Dominic seems to have an interest in music, and can play the violin with great skill. Biography (Before Earth): Not much is known about Dominic's early and adolescent life, as he does not speak much of it aside from generalities. However, it is known that he had an enjoyable childhood, and that his family was quite wealthy. Notable for having strong ties with magic, it was no surprise when Dominic was found he could, too, feel the Gift. It was during close examination by one of his distant relatives, however, where it was found Dominic could use magic, but was not connected enough to wield it without the aid of a magical tool. As such, he was promptly trained in the use of a wand to act as a conduit for his spells. Excelling in his studies, Dominic applied martial arts to how he wielded his wand, treating it as though it were a short blade that could cast spells. His family took great pride in this, though grew nervous as Dominic seemed to drift from continuing the family business as advisers and counselors for nobles and monarchies, (which is how they gained their vast wealth). Indeed, as Dominic came closer to becoming of age, he began to lose interest in continuing on the family name, and decided he would rather explore caverns and crypts for anything of magical value. His family promptly cut off monetary support for their son, promising they would only accept him back once he “came to his senses”. Alone, penniless, and angry, Dominic turned into something of a wanderer and spelunker, traveling to inns and taverns seeking out any rumors relating to ancient tombs and catacombs. As such, he slowly but surely returned to wealth by selling various artifacts, weapons, and tomes he found within such crypts; independent of his family for all but name alone. It was during one of these spelunkings when Dominic ran into a small group of battle-mages who called themselves The Vigilantes, hunters of Dark Magic and Witchcraft. Working together, Dominic and The Vigilantes both were impressed by the other’s skills, and it wasn't long before The Vigilantes offered Dominic a position amongst their ranks, noting his skill in dueling and magic. Dominic heartily accepted, and soon began wandering the Fairy Tale World as a Vigilant, tracking down Dark Wizards/Witches and bringing them to justice or executing them. This led to what would have been one of the most harrowing experiences in Dominic’s life. After having been part of the group for a number of years, Dominic and his colleagues caught wind of a vile sorcerer by the name of Rohbart who had been slowly but surely rising in power, threatening to take the kingdom he so lusted for by force. Leading a strike team to invade the warlock’s castle, Dominic and his crew thought they would be ready, that they would face a powerful sorcerer alone…what they didn't expect was to see a great flying beast emerge from the sky, emitting a roar that scattered the Vigilantes before overpowering them. Killing all but Dominic, who was left injured, Rothbart decided not to kill him, too content in his own victory. As such, he simply transformed the duelist into a great horned owl, only allowed to retake human form every full moon, before sending him on his way. Dominic, trapped in his new flying form, sought out the Sorcerer, Yen Sid; who was said to have no limits to his vast power. After days of tiresome searching, Dominic eventually found the Sorcerer’s cave, and begged him for help. The Sorcerer, able to hear Dominic’s words through telepathy, sadly informed the owl he was unable to break his curse, as he did not wield Dark Magic, and could not claim lordship over any curse cast by another sorcerer. However, not all was lost, as the Sorcerer could grant Dominic powers to utilize while in his owl form, granting him an advantage over others. Dominic spent the next part of his life simply traveling, enjoying the freedom his new form gave him whilst craving for life as a human again. When he was around the age of 25, he received a message from Yen Sid requesting his help in dealing with the Dark Queen Maleficent, who had begun tyranny over the Fairy Tale World. Named one of the Four Guardians and gifted with an amulet that allowed him to travel between worlds at will, Dominic was sent with the children to Earth, to watch over them. Biography (Life On Earth): Waking up in the middle of the woods, Dominic needed to only take a few seconds to get used to his surroundings before realizing that he was human once again. Elated, Dominic was in absolute glee to be free from his Curse, at least in this world. As such, he spent the first few days of his time on Earth getting used to how the people there lived, their culture and societies. Now, thirteen years later, Dominic is an archivist working for a history museum, now taking a "vacation" to Lake Tahoe where he can watch over the Children who had begun to congregate, knowing that their time to return was nearing. Other: Dominic speaks with a slight hint of a Scottish accent in tone, though it is not very obvious. Theme Song: (To be added)
