You do several quests following the main line and then you have another act which follows the same style. In the end you are going to reach the same ending. It is not like the Acts are necessary. On the other hand, our Acts will actually have different focuses. As a person can infer about Act 1: Forgotten, it is about the memories our characters have forgotten.

I suppose it's just for organization, or something along those lines. Iunno really. I don't even care about it, I just like the rad action the games have to offer. (Especially 2. Though currently I'm playing Titan Quest so I can clear out my backlog of games, so I won't be playing a Druid anytime soon. Hehe.)
