Mimic watched Devika stepped up. He was wary, and felt that that was alright, given the fact that the Empath could damage him and easily. It was also one of the few powers he couldn't combat effectively. For if h e returned back with an emotional attack, that would just make Devika's abilities more potent. 

So Mimic went on the offensive, mimicing Phoebe's powers and with vines, attacked Devika, to break her concentration.
