Mhmm well I had a thought, that basically in order to fully unlock more abilities of beasts, you have to delve deeper into their mindset. It just risks you easily losing control similar to Takeover magic. Karn hasn't been able to go that far because of a accident and his unwillingness to go that extra step. Losing your mind at the wrong time came be fatal after all xD

Well, that requires explaining the scientific way. And the. You have to make up something for other mythical creatures like the Chimera magic. It's just easier to say 'BECAUSE OF MAGIIIIIC!!!"
