I do not have better tech then everyone, in some fields I am beaten by others(For example Sazkarjhia and the Lorca Ghaj being warriors nations have vastly better weapons tech then me). I do not know where the hell you got this idea from that everyone has equal tech, or how you think your word is law, as the tone and wording of your post seems to imply. Its hard to even determine equal since one could be far ahead in one particular field, but extremely far behind in another.

This allowed the Japanese navy to bomb the living crap out of the island for days, yet the Marine corps came out on top. Having the ability to bomb your enemy does not guarantee success 

Comparing Space Warfare to any form of ground warfare is a stupid idea. Because when you can send rods of the heaviest materials at super-sonic speeds and nuclear weapons or antimatter down upon your enemy without fear of retaliation, then bombing is a huge advantage.
