### Caravan Escort The guards were scared. They had a duty to uphold, but this was just crazy even for them. "Fuck this shit!" The guard who had nearly been killed by Alaira screamed out and ran for it. Another one jumped into the river and showed his swimming ability by disappearing before the first one even got more than fifty feet. The other guards didn't seem to budge, while the captain just looked even angrier, if such a thing was possible. He stepped forward and held his sword "I will not stand for this injustice! I will not allow you or your companions to leave here alive. Pray to your gods, villain, you'll be meeting them soon!" The robed man merely chuckled at Ssarak and his attempt to break his wards. While the Psychomancer did have to put up a defense against Ssarak's attacks, he also knew that Alaira was likely the biggest threat to his guardsmen, but in this state she'd also be a liability to the group. He knew that, and it was likely that Ssarak knew this as well. The robed man held his staff defensively as he prepared himself for battle. "I have no idea what you mean, good sir... I'm no Psychomancer. I am a Demonomancer!" And with that the battle was on. Somehow, the guardsmen who were previously nervous looked much more furious. The pale one screeched out as his mouth revealed rows of jagged teeth. He and the other guard attacked Meirin and Darius, the ghoul lunging low towards Meirin's legs while the guardsman hurled a dagger at Darius's gut to get him to try to dodge or block the blow. The guard captain moved in on Ssarak with a burst of speed, his shield up to defend himself but also lunged with his blade aiming towards Ssarak's hand to cut his fingers off. The robed man made a quick florish, and suddenly flanking Meirin and Darius were two [demons](http://i.imgur.com/18H9qKQ.jpg). However they were not real, but illusions. They roared to make themselves known and would menace the two while somehow always dodging their attacks. They'd occasionally make an attack, but it would be telegraphed enough that the two could dodge them, but they'd also have to do that while fighting against the guardsmen, who where very much _not_ illusions. Lyn and Alaira would also be "attacked" by separate demons, though their purpose was mostly to keep them from interfering by snapping at them. Like the ones fighting Meirin and Darius, they would effortlessly dodge any attempt to harm the, but be unable to do not damage to Alaira or Lyn due to merely being illusions. The caravan master tried to escape with the wagon, but he too was menaced by a demon and held hostage. Only Ssarak saw no demons thanks to his wards, but he also wouldn't know that the robed man was creating illusions on everyone else since the robed man purposely chose not to have him affected by the spell. ### Tyrael Marchrosias Tyrael looked at Cynn thoroughly before opening the door out of the mess hall. He only knew her due to her long stint in the infirmary and thought that Sam was doing an study on her corpse. Turned out she wasn't dead, which was a shame since he could use more flesh for his crafts. Seeing that she was alive however he figured that he might as well get some good use out of her, recovering or not. It's not like the mission he had in mind for them was dangerous. Well, too dangerous anyways. **"If you think you are capable of helping, than come. If you are not, than stay."** Tyrael said simply as he opened the door and began to head out. **"If you believe you are ready, come to my office. If you can find others, have them join you there. I will explain what you will be doing once we have a sufficiently large enough group."**
