> Sounds like Steam still has some work to do. > > At least they're moving in the right direction though by keeping Hatred. Have they announced that they're going to keep it after it got its AO? I didn't hear the follow up. For anyone out of the loop: there was a game called Hatred that got ripped off of Steam Greenlight for its violent content, which isn't usually a huge deal but you literally do nothing but serial kill in the game. People didn't like it being arbitrarily ripped from Greenlight, especially since Greenlight is a system where Steam users themselves vote for which games they want in the store. Later, Gabe Newell himself stepped in and let it back on the store. Hatred was in a relatively good spot from the controversy hype. But then for some reason the Hatred devs wanted to get their game rated by the ESRB. Of course it got an AO, which Steam does not allow. So, really, Steam now has the option to keep it or remove it without getting any backlash. Hatred might be able to stay and continue as an Unrated title, or it could be removed for violating the AO rule. The decision would likely set a precedent for future titles. But that's the last I heard of it.
