Oh man. Way back in Blue and Red version the stats were hella different. Pokémon were more powerful back then because the stat codes were worked differently. But a lvl 65 Blastoise should have health in the mid-200s or so I would imagine, depending on IVs and EVs.

And typing is hella important still. The most OP type in the game? Bug. By itself it is kinda actually shit but it combines so powerfully with Rock or Steel. A Bug/Steel Pokémon literally has only one weakness, granted that is a double weakness which pretty much guarantees instant death. Bug/Rock is almost as bad with only three weaknesses and all three aren't very common. Bug too stronk.

Then again, Fairy typing is pretty strong too. But I think the metagame has adjusted to account for Fairies.
