Lavana is the protector for Princess Belladonna and has been on the job for the past three years. He rarely speaks to her and tends to just silently stay by her side. He never wanted to become a protector, or work in general, but his father pressured him into going to the academy so he would not be a waste of space. Lavana is naturally strong and, with his talent and motivation to get out of school as fast as possible, he graduated very quickly and earlier than most. 

His older sister is very trusted and is the royal protector of the queen, and his aunt is the High Priestess devoted to Oz and his prophet, so combined with those connections and his obvious skill it did not take long for Lavana get a job as a protector after graduating. After a few years, Lavana was informed that one of the royal twins needed a new protector and he was being reassigned. He already hated his job and was horrified that the director was planning to send him to deal with either Prince Bellarino or Prince Belvedere, but to his relief the twin was actually Princess Belladonna. Lavana knew she was not the nicest royal, but he definitely preferred her over the younger royal twins, and accepted the role without much complaint.
