Thom took in the sight of the village before him and chuckled. "The queen is staying in this backwater? Well i suppose i can squeeze a few coins out of this cesspit they call a town." He said to himself and moved forward, he was told to meet the others in the tavern and he reached the door just as the morning sun spread it's rays of light over the little village, most men were rising for breakfast or about to head to work so he wasn't surprised when he opened the door to the tavern to find it practically empty but what stood out was the woman with her head held so high her nose could cut the clouds. Either that was the queen or the peasantry around here had an unnecessary sense of entitlement, but he ignored the queen for the moment instead reaching into his pouch and pulling out a fair sized gold bullion and slapping it on the counter. "Give a round of whatever to my fellow early drinkers, and bring me whatever is for breakfast and your strongest ale i'm going to need it." He said aloud so that everyone could hear him. It earned him a few cheers for his effort and a look from the keeper but she went and did as he said. Still ignoring the queen he removed his bow from his shoulders leaning it against a chair and threw his black cloak across the back of his chair, as he settled in he studied the queen, she was quiet beautiful but that unnecessary highborn flair she threw off annoyed him she might of been much more beautiful in his eyes without it, but then Thom had never liked a woman with power or a woman with confidence "Give a woman power and she will walk all over you." His father had told him, in many ways that was the first lesson his father taught him. Finally he stopped looking over the queen and spoke to her directly. "Why don't you relax M'lady?" He said, adding a sarcastic emphasis on M'lady and a pause before he spoke once more. "You look like you woke up this morning and found the whore you slept with was still warming your bed."
