@Prostagma: While this is funny, you need to tweak his first ability so it doesn't trivialize any fights or issues in the RP. Maybe turn it into more of a supernatural tinkering skill? As in he's really good at makeshift solutions that shouldn't work.
But you have Nono, Dianor, Emiya-Archer, the dude from Demonbane, Suwako, Nanoha... don't all of those guys already trivialize combat? I mean, Dianor has an utterly unblockable and untankable conceptual weapon as well as being pretty much immortal and having two super angels backing her, Nono can kick celestial bodies in half and generate black holes, Archer is flat-out unkillable as long as Saber is nearby, Suwako is an extra stage boss in a Touhou game and apparently unkillable here as well, Nanoha had demonstrated on multiple occasions that there is not a single problem in existence she can't bypass via gratuitous beam spam, and Demonbane guy is from Demonbane. It seems a bit odd that "change things that aren't puzzles into puzzles" is considered overpowered when you have guys like that running around. Besides, it doesn't necessarily mean it'll be a perfect solution- if you've ever played an adventure game you've probably noticed that most puzzles tend to end with the protagonist in an even worse position than when he started. Fights are usually solved by bypassing them or just running away. Your average Lucasarts protag (Guybrush Threepwood from the Monkey Island series and Sam from Sam and Max: Hit the Road both come to mind) is functionally unable to be fully beaten, but nearly as incapable of success- those are the kind of characters I'm trying to emulate here.
