[indent][indent]Derek was caught off guard. He wasn't expecting to be asked that, but he realized that with the way his constant blabbering was going, she was bound to ask at any minute. He tried to debate quickly on the pros and cons of telling her the truth about this man. The pros would be emotionally lifting for her, but the cons could cost her life. If she knew who or what he truly was, then he would see no point in keeping her around to play with. It was never fun for a vampire to be caught on what he/she was. 

"I don't know him personally. I just know of him. Same as you and anyone else who knows about your predicament. And although you moved here two weeks ago, he probably arrived the next day, stalking you out," he said.
