"The Woods of Diin" would be somewhere far south, and cover a pretty big area. There are tons of Rumors about the Woods of Diin. They were named when Merovah was first colonized, and the travellers who went through were often terrorized by a loud noise, or 'Din' that threatened to come close to them, sounding like a feral beast. Many of the travellers who went through were lost as they went through to the strange creatures there. From wood fae to werewolves. Eventually, after all started to 'westernize' in Merovah researchers went back into the (at the time) Woods of Din to find Orc tribes set up there, they were the ones who had been hunting the early settlers and making the feral noise that they had heard so long ago. After communicating with the Orcs [on a very strained and hostile level mind you] the Orcs took on the name for the Woods of Din, pronouncing Din as 'Deen' with their accent. Over centuries Orcs have been taken out for slavery purposes and shipped elsewhere while developing a more western way of life, and keeping their traditional blood thirsty rituals. Many people still don't go into the Woods of Diin still unless they have an Orc escort or using the only road to get into the next country over, fearing the other uncultured creatures within the Woods of Diin.
