Anise let out a surprised squeal as the bat monkey attacked her leg and she kicked violently in and attempt to get rid of the thing. The nightstick felt quite warm, but she only passed that off as her adrenaline kicking in and causing her body to warm up. After dealing with the critter she looked around with her night vision and saw that there were more things looking at them. She simply assumed that all of them wanted to hurt them and she got herself into a defensive posture. Even if she didn't know how to fight she wasn't going to just give up without one. At this point the person she had helped by smacking one of the bat monkeys off of him took off running. Her heart skipped a beat. "No! Wait! Don't run off alone!" She glanced back and forth between the disappearing light source and those now around her. She couldn't decide whether she should run after him, or stay with these people to grant them the vision they needed. "Ethelred, grant me the courage I need." Just uttering those words were enough to give her more focus to do what was needed. She looked again at the one in the wolf mask as he asked Tyaelaem where the one with the lantern went and she stepped up to him. She was intimidated by him, but fear was beginning to sharpen her senses. "I know where he went. If we don't want to lose him in this darkness I can lead the way. We are being watched though." She gestured out to the forest. "We should hurry." She was grateful that she could see again, the nightstick was something of a lifeline for her. "I don't know how long I can see for." She wanted to ask Tyaelaem which way was the right way to get out of this forest and get back to Riverforde, but new comrades were what mattered right now. She had lost Hania and Randold, but she wasn't going to lose anyone else. She refused to let that happen. Finally, she had to get introductions out of the way. "I am Princess Anise Sinclair. This is my friend, Tyaelaem." Even now she still couldn't stop that formality of letting others know she is a princess. However, this forest had changed her a lot in the short time she had been there.
